RTILA Falls Short on Functionality and Support – Seeking Refund
I've encountered significant issues with RTILA that have prevented me from using it effectively, despite my extensive technical background (25 years of AutoIt scripting and over 13 years of IT troubleshooting in an enterprise environment).
After spending many hours over multiple days, I haven't been able to get the command overlay (automation panel) to appear in the browser when attempting to configure commands.
Specific problem: The command overlay does not show up in Brave, Chrome, or Edge on Windows 11, even after following the steps in tutorials and documentation (e.g., creating a new project, adding an element-interaction command like "Click on an Element," and clicking the "INSPECT" button, which launches the browser but without the overlay panel on the right side).Troubleshooting steps I tried: Tested on fresh installations of Brave (version 1.71.186), Chrome (version 130.0.6723.70), and Edge (version 130.0.2849.56).
Disabled all browser extensions, cleared cache/cookies, and ensured hardware acceleration was enabled.
Reinstalled RTILA multiple times from the latest GitHub release (v7.1.0), reset app data, and explicitly set browser paths in settings.
Consulted various online resources and LLMs (ChatGPT, Claude and Grok) for guidance, including verifying no antivirus/firewall blocks.
No specific error messages appeared in RTILA's console or logs; the browser simply opens to the target URL without the overlay.
I emailed RTILA support on October 27, 2025 and haven't received any reply.
I haven't attempted installation on my Ubuntu machines to avoid further time investment.
Unfortunately, this led to unnecessary configuration changes on my Windows setup that I'd rather not have made. Given these unresolved issues and lack of support, I'm requesting a full refund through AppSumo.
This experience has reinforced the importance of thorough pre-purchase research, so I don't view my time as entirely wasted. Potential buyers: Be cautious if relying on the inspector feature for browser automation.

We are happy to assist/onboard you if you can be a bit more patient as we are going through a very hectic time and about to launch our V8 which has a completely new architecture that should address most of the issues you encountered with our V7.1

A Surprisingly Powerful and Versatile Tool
I picked up rtila a little while ago, and I've been taking my time to go through the tutorials and really understand what it can do. I'm glad I did, because the more I use it, the more I realize how powerful this software is.
There's a bit of a learning curve, which is to be expected with a tool that has this much capability. However, the documentation and video tutorials are clear and helpful. Once you get the hang of the logic, you can start to see all the different ways you can automate tasks.
It's a very solid piece of software that does what it claims to do, and it does it well. If you're willing to invest a little time to learn it, you'll have a very valuable automation tool in your arsenal. I'm really happy with this purchase and can see myself using it for a long time to come.

Sep 26, 2025Dear Riza. Thank you for this review and for making the effort to tackle the learning curve and if you have been able to put RTILA V7 to good use then this knowledge will now serve you well with our coming V8 which will be using Ai assistance to create and edit automation projects and also find the CSS/xPath selectors etc... removing the main burden of the learning curve. The V8 is in pre-release...

Sep 18, 2025Dear s.c.r.e.e.n.synergy2025
Please bump up your email or ticket or share a keyword about your email/subject, as we had a few weeks of less responsive support due to an intensive course and V8 testing we were busy with. And we will share with you a temporary fix for the Google Chrome bug and also share early access to the V8 which should have these issues solved. We are going through a difficult...
