MyClone — Overpriced for What It Actually Does
Paid for MyClone expecting an AI tool that could genuinely help me prospect and engage leads — but what I got feels like a half‑baked experiment with limited real‑world use.
Here’s the honest breakdown:
📌 Expensive for the value — Lifetime pricing sounds great until you realize all you’re really buying is a chatbot widget stuck on a website that “talks in your voice.” There’s no real outbound prospecting features like email or calls — so if you’re hoping to actually do outreach, you’re out of luck.
📉 No outbound prospecting at all — MyClone doesn’t dial out, send cold emails, or integrate with tools that do real networking. In today’s world, real prospecting lives in email, LinkedIn & call sequences — and none of that exists here.
🌐 Website‑only engagement — Sure, you can embed a widget on a site and have your clone answer questions 24/7, but if your sales funnel doesn’t start on a static page where strangers randomly show up, you won’t use it much. That’s a tiny use case.
🤖 Cool tech but limited scope — It does let you upload docs, audio, and even clone your voice to train a digital persona, which sounds fancy, but that’s about it. There’s no social + CRM + engagement workflow that makes it genuinely useful for busy founders/sales folks.
💬 Positive reviews seem suspect — With only ~12 reviews on AppSumo and most being glowing, it feels more like early adopter hype than broad validation. Hard to trust “5 stars” when there’s almost no volume.
🧠 Summary
Good for:
✔️ People who want an AI chatbot clone of themselves
✔️ Coaches/consultants who want basic lead responses on a website
✔️ Early adopters who enjoy tinkering
Not good for:
❌ Outbound prospecting or outreach workflows
❌ Replacing real networking tools
❌ People who want measurable ROI from sales automation

I understand outbound prospecting is a big deal and many folks do and need it, but that's not the use case that MyClone is meant for. Not we advertise that.
Certainly, one can expect the clone to do everything, but the use-case that we are honing in is inbound lead capture and qualification.
