Back in the early days of live streaming, if you wanted to broadcast from outside, you needed bulky equipment or proprietary hardware that only big media companies could afford. At the same time, creators, schools, churches, small news teams, and even parents filming youth sports were stuck with unreliable smartphone streams that froze, dropped, or pixelated the moment a single mobile network hiccupped.

We knew there had to be something better.

So we built Omnistream, a tool that lets anyone go live with professional reliability and quality — without expensive gear or complicated setups.

🚀 What Makes Omnistream Different

Most mobile streaming relies on one operator (AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, etc.). If that network fluctuates, your entire stream suffers.

Our secret sauce is combining multiple mobile networks at once, giving you a rock-solid connection that stays stable even when one carrier dips. This is the same concept used by major broadcast organizations—except we deliver it through a smartphone instead of a broadcast truck.

On top of that, we added the tools creators kept asking for:

• Mobile network carriers (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, etc.) — required since the app bonds multiple mobile data networks for stability. • Cloud infrastructure providers — specifically Microsoft Azure, AWS, and “probably Google as well.” • DSLR/HDMI hardware adapters — optional but essential for DSLR input (iOS uses a ~$150 off-the-shelf adapter; Android uses a USB-C to HDMI cable).

What’s the origin of the idea for your product?

Omnistream began when my co-founder and I, both longtime veterans of the video industry, realized there was a huge gap between what people needed and what the market actually offered. If you wanted to broadcast live from outside, you either relied on bulky satellite trucks and expensive proprietary hardware used by big networks, or you used a basic smartphone stream that froze, glitched, and disappointed your audience. We believed there had to be a better way. As social networks exploded, individuals, schools, churches, youth sports teams, and small media channels suddenly became broadcasters — but they didn’t have the tools the pros used. We wanted to democratize live broadcasting, making professional-quality, stable streaming available to everyone, without cost barriers or technical complexity. That’s why we’re passionate about Omnistream: We’re giving creators and communities the ability to share their stories, events, and voices with the world — using the phone in their pocket instead of $30,000 equipment. It’s empowering, accessible, and it solves a problem we’ve seen for years.

What problem is your product solving and how?

Omnistream solves the biggest problem in mobile live streaming: unstable, low-quality broadcasts that freeze or drop whenever a single mobile network fluctuates. We fix this by bonding multiple carriers at once for a rock-solid connection, and by packing a full virtual TV studio—overlays, guests, DSLR/HDMI input, and multi-platform streaming—into a simple mobile app. What sets us apart is this unique combination of professional-grade stability and studio-level tools delivered through a smartphone, without the cost or complexity of traditional broadcast hardware.

What’s the #1 thing you’re looking to gain from the AppSumo campaign?

Our #1 goal is strong revenue paired with meaningful user adoption. We want real users installing Omnistream, putting it to work in churches, schools, sports, and creator workflows, and giving us feedback that helps us refine the product. Revenue is the clearest signal that we’ve delivered real value — and it’s what determines whether we run future campaigns and recommend AppSumo to others. The user acquisition and exposure are important, but revenue-driven validation is the primary goal.

What are your plans with the customers, cash, and learnings from the AppSumo campaign?

We plan to use the customers, revenue, and learnings from this AppSumo launch to refine Omnistream, strengthen our U.S. presence, and continue improving the product for real-world use cases. The new users we gain here—creators, schools, churches, sports programs, and small media teams—will give us the feedback we need to fine-tune features and expand responsibly. The revenue helps us reinvest in development and infrastructure, and the insights from how Sumo-lings use the product will guide our roadmap and help shape future campaigns.
