I am already using UpViral yearly license of 297$.
In terminology people state KingSumo is a giveaway platform while UpViral indicated to do both giveaway and contests.
In your expert opinion, what is the difference in your opinion? Where do you differ and/or what do you do the same? Thanks in advance to answer my questions.

In regard to the comparison of KingSumo and UpViral, I don't know much about UpViral and don't want to speak on a product that hasn't been vetted by our team. We can only speak for companies that we've directly worked with or created.
Since you're already using UpViral, you know better than me about the benefits it provides.
My understanding is that a 'contest' is based on skill (i.e. doing something better than everyone else) and a 'giveaway' is based on luck (entering your name and getting randomly selected).
(You made me do some Googling for this one 😉)
Based on those definitions, KingSumo is a hybrid, incorporating the best giveaways and contests.
What I mean by this:
The 'giveaway' part of KingSumo is that anyone can enter and have a chance to win, no skill needed.
The 'contest' part comes after you enter the giveaway. You are given the opportunity to share the giveaway with friends, fans, or followers. Each time someone enters through your referral link, you get more entries into the giveaway. Thus, the 'contest' part is based on your 'skill' at getting other folks to enter, increasing your likelihood of winning.

I have both. Upviral offers detailed analytics as to social shares and where your entries are coming from. Kingsumo offers zero analytics. I have the Wordpress plugin KS, maybe their web version is better as it seems that is where they put all of their efforts these days.
