zero protection and no real value

I regret buying the AppSumo Plus yearly plan. The advertised “1‑year protection” is basically nonexistent — they only honor it for deals they choose, and everything else is denied. I bought a $109 lifetime deal that shut down after five months, and AppSumo refused to help at all.

The $100 in coupons is structured to benefit AppSumo, not the customer. Each $25 coupon expires quickly and forces you to make purchases you may not want. The 10% discount isn’t even exclusive — I can get the same discount without being a Plus member.

And the so‑called “priority VIP support” is not real. I contacted support about a product issue and waited months for a reply. That’s not VIP service by any definition.

For me, the Plus plan delivered zero meaningful protection and almost no real value.

I completely understand how frustrating it is to have a tool shut down after purchase when you were expecting long-term value. While not every deal falls under our We Got Your Back protection, we’re continuing to invest in Select tools and additional customer protections to improve long-term reliability and trust.

On coupons, we recently made an update based on feedback: Plus coupons are now refundable 😊 They’re also issued quarterly to give Sumo-lings more time to find something they actually want or need, rather than feeling rushed. Plus members also get access to Plus Exclusives and special pricing on Select deals throughout the year.

And regarding Support, I’m sorry you had a delayed experience. Our Support team truly does their best to help and advocate for Sumo-lings, especially in situations involving partners. Sometimes these cases can take longer depending on communication with the partner directly, but writing in always ensures your case is tracked properly and that you’ll receive updates as soon as there’s new information to share.

We really appreciate the honest feedback, and it genuinely helps shape improvements to Plus. I do hope we’ll have the chance to give you a better experience going forward.
