Q: Replace Descript?
Right now, my workflow includes Descript, Riverside and TAJA.
While I initially saw that there is some overlap between Reap and TAJA, after reading comments and questions, I see that there is some descript overlap as well.
Is your solution as robust as Descript? One difference so far is that Descript (at least from my experience) doesn’t have a cap on the amount videos I can do. Other than that, what are the similarities and differences?
I’d actually like to be able to cancel that subscription if Reap can do everything. The one limitation that I see at this time is the hours cap.

Apr 14, 2025A: Great question! Reap does overlap with Descript, Riverside, and TAJA—but with a different focus.
Currently we are offering polished edited clips with a deeper understanding of the video using AI models. We’re actively building toward a full editing workflow—adding noise removal, eye correction, and timeline editing. An AI-powered editor is also on the way to help with full video edits, like Descript. We are building towards to end to end video editor launching later part of the year.
While we currently have an hours cap but its similar to transcription limit of Descript, we’re working to expand limits with credits to offer more flexibility. Try the clips—if they fit your workflow, let us know what else you’d need to fully switch!
