I purchased re:tune on AppSumo expecting a working, actively developed AI chatbot builder as described in the deal.
Unfortunately, my experience has been very disappointing and aligns with several other users’ complaints on the reviews page:
Product development appears abandoned. After I purchased and activated re:tune, there were no meaningful updates or ongoing development. The promised roadmap and new features never materialized, and according to other users the roadmap was even removed.
No support and engagement. There has been little to no communication from the team in support channels, similar to reports by other buyers who say support chat went silent after the refund period ended.
Core functionality is unusable. Although the servers might technically be online, the platform feels like an unfinished alpha version and doesn’t function reliably for building and deploying chatbots, as others have mentioned.
Feels like an abandoned project. I, like other purchasers, feel that this product was promoted and sold without proper ongoing development, leaving buyers with a tool that doesn’t deliver real value.
Because the product is not delivering the functionality or support promised and seems effectively abandoned, I request a refund under AppSumo’s money-back guarantee.
Scam, closed down - but still has live links for affiliate sales
This company is clearly no longer operational, but as a user, I couldn't tell untl I had spent hours training a bot with my material. I even saw that there is still a link for people to set up as an affiliate to get commission from selling re:tune! This is unethical and a complete waste of time and money. I don't know how or where they got so many 5 star reviews from because even if they were that good in the past, a reputable company would put a popup on the website advising customers that they are no longer trading. Unfortuntely, I'm finding this with an increasing number of purchases now and it is making me think twice before buying, although I commend AppSumo for their customer protection policy - but there's a limit to how much AppSumo can support these businesses.
