Q: Can I use my own email/SMTP without paying the $6/month channel fee?

I'm deciding whether to keep my Tier 4 or return. Before I decide, I need to confirm my understanding of the channel architecture:

My understanding:
Webhooks are inbound-only (external tools → Sendr) to trigger automations, generate pages, etc.
The API generates personalized content (pages, GIFs, videos) but does not include an outbound email sending endpoint
To actually send campaigns via Sendr's sequencer, I must pay the $6/month per channel fee for Sendr's managed sending infrastructure
There is no way to connect my own Gmail, SMTP, or custom email provider to bypass this fee
Is this understanding correct? Or is there any undocumented way to connect my own email sending infrastructure (via API, webhook, or custom integration) so I can use Sendr's sequencer without paying the $6/month channel add-on?

A: Hi Tectonic,

Could you please reach out via support and book in a call so we can understand the flow you are trying to achieve and how to build this in Sendr (including our automation builder).

If there is a specific connector missing in the automation builder, we can look at supporting this / adding this in, but out the box you can:

- Enroll contacts in to an enrichment or personalisation sequence in Sendr
- Push those contacts on in to a sequencer or CRM with all the personalisations you created (e.g. AI enrichment, lead scoring, found email, found mobile, email copy, video page, voice page etc)
- Then send engagement notifications on to your sending platform of choice (e.g. as a prospect lands on their landing page, that signal can also be sent across to trigger a next step)

We're also moving connection actions in the automation builder in to the sequence soon so this is even more obvious.

The API and webhooks are two-way, not just a content-creation trigger. You can push data in (create/update contacts, build sheets, trigger enrichment), kick off a sequence for a specific contact from your own system (say, when a CRM deal stage changes), and receive events back via outbound webhooks to any endpoint you choose — page views, video plays, enrichment completed, sequence status — with signed payloads you can verify. It also connects to Make and Zapier.

The full, live reference is at https://api.sendr.io/docs, where you can see every endpoint and webhook event up front — so you can confirm exact scope rather than testing.

So already above we're combining the features you would expect in a Clay, Freckle, Sendspark etc via our API/Webhook/Automation Builder in Tier 3, then add in the world class waterfalls and best in class B2B contact database, chrome extension...

Please book in a call with our Success team so we can help you get setup properly.

Thank you for your response Dave. What I'm asking is what ways, if any, exist to allow the user to connect to a channel via wehook and have the platform register it as such. I want to use Sendr as the brain to manage my multi-channel campaigns but continue to have these channel connections be on previous used platforms I've already paid for like pabbly (connected to my email, linkedin, IG, etc)

Hi Tectonic,
Good question, and yes, what you're describing is exactly what Sendr is built to do, so I'll respond here in a series of comments.

The piece you want is the "Send a request" action inside the Sequencer (not the Pabbly connector). It fires an HTTP request (POST/PUT/GET etc.) to any API or webhook URL you choose, with a JSON body, custom headers and your enriched variables mapped in.

Founder

So at any step you can push the full personalised contact record (found email, found mobile, lead score, AI copy, video page, voice page) straight into Instantly, HeyReach, your CRM or your own endpoint, and let those platforms send on the channels you already pay for. Sendr is the brain and you can keep using your other sending platforms.

Given how API/Webhooks work there's no way to "register" an external channel back into the native sequencer so it sends through it directly (that's what the managed channel covers). But you don't need that. The "Send a request" step hands the enriched contact off to your channel mid-sequence, and works with any endpoint.

Finally on Pabbly: the connector in our automation builder is the Subscription & Billing product, so it won't route your email/LinkedIn/IG sends. The route to your Pabbly channels is the "Send a request" step posting into your Pabbly Connect webhook, then Pabbly should be able to handle it from there. Or just push the data directly in to Instantly / Hey Reach.

You can also push data in via the API (create/update contacts, trigger enrichment etc) and receive events back via signed outbound webhooks.

Best next step is a quick call with our team to build the workflow you need. We'd also appreciate an update on your review given this context AND the wider platform which combines numerous major GTM platforms.

Btw we're also in the process of moving connections in the Automation Builder - Salesforce, Hubspot, Instantly, HeyReach, Clay, Slack, Smartlead etc - in to the Sequencer as actions. But in the meantime you have both contact enrollment webhooks, and push webhook requests directly in the sequencer available to use for the use case you've described Tetanic.
