Dear SEOCrawl Team,

I purchased the Tier 4 AppSumo Lifetime Deal for SEOcrawl in 2023, which was the highest license tier available at the time.

I have recently seen that SEOcrawl has evolved into SEOCrawl.ai, with a significantly expanded product offering including AI/GEO and LLM-related capabilities.

Before proceeding further, I would like to clarify what my original AppSumo Tier 4 lifetime license entitles me to under the terms of the deal.

The AppSumo deal terms specifically stated:

Lifetime access to SEOcrawl
All future Elite Plan updates
If the plan name changes, the deal will be mapped to the new plan name with all accompanying updates
Previous AppSumo customers will be grandfathered into the new feature limits

As a Tier 4 customer, I would therefore like to understand:

Which current SEOCrawl.ai plan is my Tier 4 lifetime license mapped to?
Does my Tier 4 license continue to receive the features and limits of the corresponding current plan, as promised in the original AppSumo terms?
Which of the new SEOCrawl.ai features are included for existing Tier 4 AppSumo customers?
Are there any new features or capabilities that are specifically excluded from my lifetime license? If so, could you please provide the details?
What are the current usage limits and feature entitlements attached to my Tier 4 account?

I would also like to suggest something that could potentially solve the AI usage-cost issue for both SEOCrawl and AppSumo customers.

If SEOCrawl.ai could provide an MCP server, BYOK (Bring Your Own Key), or similar external AI integration, customers could connect their own Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT/OpenAI, or other AI subscriptions and use their own API/AI credits.

This could be a very attractive solution because customers would get access to the new AI capabilities while SEOCrawl would not have to absorb the ongoing LLM/API costs for those requests.

I believe this would also be a great way to preserve the value of the original AppSumo lifetime deals while allowing SEOCrawl to continue developing a sustainable AI-powered product.

I purchased the highest available Tier 4 license in good faith based on the lifetime-access and future-update commitments, so I would really appreciate a clear explanation of how my license is being carried forward into SEOCrawl.ai.

I've been trying to get help from support for over 3 weeks on UI issues and a continued decay in the quality of the tool. After emailing several times and waiting 3 weeks on trying to resolve the issue, I've officially given up with this tool.

The original LTD deal was supposed to match the tiers you originally paid for, however they changed the naming convention of tiers and didn't honor new features like number of reports without a paid subscription. I can understand not providing LLM features due to costs, but even basic features like reports are pretty stripped back when compared to any of the higher tier plans they have now. Further to that it seems like LTD customers are getting poor customer support.

This past week some of the GA4 reporting simply broke and hasn't worked in over a week . Support quality is pretty abysmal so I wouldn't dare go for a paid subscription.

Now I'm left scrambling for another solution right at the end of month reporting for my client. It's simply not reliable enough to use in any real way in a production setting.

Responding to your reply to anielewo: “Some of our new features like the LLM Tracker or Crawler COSTS us money. And that is why we can not simply offer for free for AppSumo users.”

I’m honestly very disappointed as well, not just with you, but with several other tools. It’s gotten to the point where I’ve decided not to buy anything else on this platform.

Your lifetime deal clearly stated: “All future Elite/Enterprise Plan updates.” As far as I know, “all” means everything. Not “some,” not “maybe most”, everything means everything. If that wasn’t the case, you should have been fully transparent from the start and clearly stated that you reserved the right to exclude certain future updates.

Most of us here understand how a business works, I get your point, what’s frustrating is the lack of transparency.

And to make matters worse, at least in my case, I haven’t received any response via chat or email to a question I sent three days ago. If I were a recurring subscription customer, I’m pretty sure I would’ve already gotten a reply.

I bought SEOCrawl’s Elite lifetime deal on AppSumo in March 2023 expecting the long‑term access and feature parity promised in the listing. The AppSumo page explicitly stated that if plan names change, deals would be mapped to the new plan name with accompanying updates. SEOCrawl has since changed its plans, but my Elite LTD was effectively mapped to the lowest tier and many features/caps I expected are no longer available.

I reached out to the founder with detailed questions, asking for:
• a clear mapping of the original Elite LTD to the current plan structure,
• confirmation that LTD users get feature parity with the corresponding tier (excluding reasonable usage overages if that was part of the original deal),
• a full list of features/limits that my Elite account should include today,
an explanation for any features moved to higher tiers and why LTD holders weren’t grandfathered,
• a path to restore the intended feature set or a fair make-good.

The reply from the founder acknowledged AppSumo customers and said they’re “respecting everything we promised,” but added they “cannot give 100% access to new features and new plans that require crawling as we would be losing money” and asked me to report missing items so they could “fix asap.” That response is vague and doesn’t resolve the core issue: the original mapping promised by AppSumo isn’t being honored in practice, and the wording used feels like leaving LTD customers to negotiate after the fact rather than guaranteeing the commitment AppSumo advertised.

Why this matters:
• The AppSumo listing made a specific promise about plan-name changes being mapped. That should mean LTD buyers are protected against arbitrary downgrades when the vendor renames or retiers plans.
• Mapping an early Elite purchase to the lowest current tier (with lost features and caps) effectively devalues the purchase and breaks trust.
• The founder’s “we can’t give 100% of new features” stance may be reasonable for heavy, usage-based additions, but it must be transparent which items are excluded and why, and LTD holders should be grandfathered for features that existed or were implied at purchase.

Bottom line: I paid for an Elite LTD (the highest plan) expecting the corresponding access and ongoing commitment. Instead, plan restructuring has left my license underpowered, and AppSumo’s protections feel toothless when founders can reassign or dilute LTD value without a clear, enforceable mapping or a fair remediation. I’ve lost confidence in buying lifetime deals on AppSumo when promises like this can be meaningfully changed post‑sale.

If you’re considering any deal on this platform, proceed with extreme caution, or don’t buy.

I bought a tier 1 license. After a few months, it changed my plan to trial and then shut it down when I did not upgrade to a higher tier. Now, my data is stuck in March 2024, and they did nothing when I complained. Avoid at all cost!
