I noticed that if i send a simple file link to a client they naturally try and qucikly download to their documents or downloads folder. They get blocked on each occasion with "Can't open this folder, sinosend.com can't open this folder because it contains system files". Is this a bug?

Sinosend uses advanced browser file APIs to let recipients download entire projects and folder structures without needing to compress them into a ZIP file first.
Because we write uncompressed files/folders directly to your device, modern web browsers (like Chrome and Edge) does not allow saving to your system folder (like the main Downloads or Documents folder)
How to solve it instantly:
Simply select or create a new subfolder (e.g., Downloads/Sinosend Files or Desktop/Client Project) as the download destination.
Note: For browsers that don't support direct directory writing (like Safari or older Firefox versions), Sinosend automatically falls back to a standard single ZIP download, which saves to your default Downloads folder as usual.
This setup gives you total control over how complex file transfers land on your disk without forcing you to unZIP massive archives! Let me know if you have any other questions.
This is a massive bug from my point of view. Customers cannot download to any of their familiar windows locations without first of all realizing they have to create a folder? The result is the sender, me gets the emails and calls "I cant download your file". Its a very obstructive workflow. With my WeTransfer account the file just downloads right away to the downloads folder. Done!

This is a mainstream browser, Google Chrome. There is a smaller download as a zip option, but most users dont choose this. They click the bigger button and then are forced into the scenario where they have to create a new folder to accept the download! A non-techy user who isnt all that comfortable with creating a new folder will also be the same user who cant zip and unzip archives
