Q: Google/Microsoft Account needed for Registration?

You mentioned "You must have a Google or Microsoft account to utilize Snoooz", but also, that Thundbird will work. Addional you say, that you are working on SMTP.
I will not use my Google/Microsoft Account for Snoooze. We use our own SMTP Server and Thunderbird as Client.
Is the Google or Microsoft Account needed for REGISTRATION?
How long will it take that Snoooze can use SMTP + Thunderbird?
If you promise that SMTP + Thunderbird will work in 3 months, I will buy.

A: Hi Bernd,

Thank you for your questions!

Currently, a Google or Microsoft account is required for registration with Snoooz. This is because our app is deeply integrated with those ecosystems, allowing seamless connection to Gmail or Outlook email accounts based on the account you use to sign up.

However, we understand the need for flexibility, and we're actively working on SMTP integration. This will allow users like yourself to use Snoooz with your own SMTP server and Thunderbird as a client. We're targeting to have this feature ready within the next three months, likely by October.

Once SMTP support is live, we plan to introduce an alternative registration method—potentially through a username and password system or another provider—so that you can use your custom email with Snoooz without relying on Google or Microsoft accounts.

If you'd like to stay updated on our progress, please subscribe to this post: https://snoooz.featurebase.app/p/custom-smtp

Thank you for your interest and support!

Best regards,
Victoria

I am excited to announce that Snoooz now supports SMTP and IMAP protocols, giving you the option to connect your private mailboxes.

This feature is currently in Beta, so you'll still need to log in with an existing Google or Outlook account first. After logging in, simply go to the Integrations tab, select the SMTP/IMAP option, and enter your mailbox credentials.
