It has made me rethink what I use email for
Let me start with, Snoooz is pretty good.
I'll add some positives:
- I like the fact that it allows me to set signatures, rules, categories, source context references per mailbox / workspace / account, and all in between. It's pretty powerful for that.
- I like that it uses your context and previously sent items to detect how you craft your emails and it tries to follow suit.
- I like for Gmail it works well at literally crafting the draft and you just review and click send if you are happy with it.
- Fully customisable rules, categories, workspaces so you can really tweak things as you like it.
- The browser extension effectively allows you to 'improve' any text in any email.
What's not so good:
- Using it with Zoho mail there's an "improve" text button but it doesn't have any formatting. Just all on one line. I then have to put returns in, bullets etc. Weird.
- Using it for my custom IMAP server, It puts an email in draft, sure. But then I have to go in there and dig it out. Gmail is much better since it it has the draft in-line. Its not Snoooz's fault that this is the way it is, but it doesn't help all that much in saving you time.
- Detection out of the box for mailing lists didn't work so good for me. It looks for key words like 'sale' or 'discount' - I had an important group email with a few people in the email CC and it classed it as a mailing list. "Where's my draft?", I thought. I noticed in analytics it got it wrong and ignored it.
It also got me thinking about my own workflows. I work with multiple businesses with different Microsoft 365 tenancies, Zoho Mail, Gmail, IMAP - I was hoping to bring it all together into my email client, Evolution mail and have Snoooz draft emails for all accounts. But the truth is, Snoooz doesn't quite fit them. It works better when say, using Gmail web interface through the browser.
I don't mean to be a negative nelly on this but unfortunately it just doesn't quite improve my workflow all that much, if any. Being in IT, most of my emails are notifications, mailing lists and when they are from humans, they tend to include the keywords like 'update' which get blocked by default. I could change the settings but I think that would take a lot of trial and error to get it balanced right. If I turn it off altogether, I'll get a draft reply to everything. All in my drafts box. I have to review whats in my inbox before reviewing whats in my draft emails. I currently don't see the benefit of time doing that.
I'd say - if your business is in Gmail then Snoooz may well be an excellent tool for you. Then again, there's Gemini which also does a pretty good job too. I was looking for something I can recommend to my colleagues and even customers. Unfortunately, for me at least, I couldn't get the best value from it as a solution for wanting someone to write my emails for me :D

Jan 27, 2026Hi Rick,
Thank you for the honest and well-thought-out review. I really appreciate you taking the time to explain both the positives and where things didn’t fully click for you.
A couple of quick points I wanted to address:
- Zoho line breaks: thank you for reporting this. That’s very likely fixable on our side, and I can ask our team to add this fix in the upcoming sprint.
- Drafts being skipped / mailing list detection: we recently tightened our default spam and mailing-list rules based on user feedback, but they’re fully customizable. You will need to adjust the spam rule or category, and it will fix the “missing draft” issue. I’m happy to help you tune this quickly if you’re still using our product. This is just a configuration which can be tuned.
Since you pointed out drafting limitations with IMAP (in general), I wanted to share that many of our users also use Snoooz beyond drafting — using it for training the AI, handling common queries, or sending replies after office hours. We can now even extract lead info from emails and directly reply to leads. There’s even a lot more coming, and given the positives you already mentioned, I do think Snoooz could become a solid long-term automation tool for you.
Even though our LTD is over, our goal is still the same: making sure users get real value. If you’re willing to give it another chance, I’d love to help you set it up in a way that fits your workflow better, and hopefully earn those remaining tacos 🌮🙂
Looking forward to hearing from you!
