Another one bites the dust
AI-based LTDs are getting harder and harder to sustain. In this case, the question is: Why would you want Socrates when you can have NotebookLM? The smaller the differentiation, the bigger the burn rate in the startup. If you purchase AI deals on AppSumo, you should immediately build a Plan B, learning from your purchase and figuring out how you can accomplish the workflow with other AI tools. RIP Socrates!

Going out of business after one year
The Socrates app will cease operations on May 31. First, it was Alphana, and now it appears that Blogify is following suit. At this rate, I'm losing confidence in AppSumo apps because I can't predict which ones might close next. It feels like I've only paid for a one-year subscription. I should have purchased the one-year subscription directly from their website instead of opting for the lifetime deal on AppSumo. That way, I wouldn't be impacted if they went out of business. Socrates has decided to close after the mandatory one-year period to avoid issuing refunds. Now, I’m left wondering which of my apps will be the next to fail.

Another dead product
It really starts to feel like every ltd you buy on appsumo gets killed off or stops working after a year or two....

Abandoned, now closed
Around 1 year mark they abandoned the product, it stopped properly working at end of 2025. Another pump and dump, another stain on Appsumo's brand. The only plus is that this one wasn't an expensive loss.
