Q: Email Marketing
The description says SD can do email marketing and SMS. But somewhere I read that the SMS is done through a third party integration. Is that also the case with the email marketing? If it's built in, is the email marketing feature rich?

Feb 12, 2026A: Hi Daniel,
Great question - and yes, email marketing is 100% native to SuiteDash. The software side is fully ours - campaigns, audiences, drip sequences, templates, automation triggers, CRM integration, all of it built-in.
Where we give you flexibility is on the sending side. Here's why: some power users need to send 100,000 emails, others only need to send 100. There's no possible way we can provide a pricing structure that accommodates all of that fairly. Additionally, sending infrastructure sometimes needs fine-tuning on the backend depending on your specific needs.
So what we do is provide flexibility for you to hook up whatever sending pipe you'd like to the backend of our software. This puts you in control and gives you pricing options to fit your budget and your needs - whether that's a low-cost option like Amazon SES or something more robust like SendGrid or Postmark.
**SMS** follows the same model - the functionality is native, but you connect your Twilio account for the actual sending. Documentation: https://help.suitedash.com/article/476-twilio-integration
When we do provide a service directly (like our Service Subscriptions), we structure it at cost as much as possible with no profit built in. But we also open up the possibility for you to bring your own solution, giving you ultimate flexibility either way.
Hope that helps!
Thanks,
Mike

Okay great. Besides SMS and email, are there other functionalities inside SD that need a third party to function?
Hi Daniel,
Good follow-up question!
To clarify - we do provide transactional email sending for free. All your important notifications (new invoices, task assignments, appointment confirmations, etc.) go out through our system at no extra cost. You can either authenticate your domain (we send on your behalf) or... continued due to char limits in these replies...
or connect your own email via SMTP (Gmail, Office 365, etc.) so replies come back to your inbox. Either way, no third-party service required.
The only time you need to provide your own sending pipe is for marketing emails - bulk campaigns, drip sequences, that kind of thing. That's where you'd connect something like Amazon SES, SendGrid, or even your own Gmail (which works fine fine under 500/day)
Beyond email and SMS, here are a few other areas where third-party connections come into play:
- Payment Processing: You connect your own gateway (Stripe, PayPal, Authorize.net, Braintree)
- Video Conferencing: Integrates with Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams
- Calendar Sync: Connects to Google Calendar and Microsoft/Outlook
- Hosted Video for LMS: Optional Video Hosting (for forced view %)
But the core platform - CRM, Projects, Invoicing, Documents, Forms, Automations, Client Portal, LMS, Support Tickets - all runs natively without requiring any third-party services.
Hope that helps!
Thanks,
Mike
