Q: I've been liking Taja so far, but have one pretty major concern...
Taja requires videos to be already published on YouTube (Unlisted or Public) before it can provide suggestions for title, description, thumbnail, etc.
I like to schedule videos for publishing in advance, and really don't love the idea of having videos sitting "Unlisted" in my Library for so long. Correct me if I'm wrong, but couldn't this hurt video performance since the "Published date" will be days/weeks earlier than the day it goes Public? I'm genuinely not sure if this would be harmful to the algorithm or signal low engagement to YouTube. I'm thinking that subscribers also wouldn't be notified when I do switch to Public, since the video is no longer "new."
Please, anyone, correct me if I'm wrong - there's a lot of conflicting info on this topic from the research I've done. But if this IS an issue, it's a pretty big one. I definitely think I would prefer being able to upload the video directly to Taja for analysis.

May 15, 2024A: Hey there,
Thanks for the note. Taja requires a new video you just uploaded to YouTube to be unlisted. You can bring that video to Taja as soon as you upload it to YouTube as unlisted, optimize it, and then schedule it out.
In terms of existing videos, those can be public and you can optimize them on Taja and put them up again without taking it down and making it unlisted. Hope this is helpful! Let me know if you have any additional questions.
Best,
Taja Team
I had the same concern as you when I started using the tubebuddy checklist 3 years ago, and it took me 2 days to optimize everything after uploading back then and get everything ready for "launch". Good news: Even the pros / "YT Ninjas" seem to upload as private, then set it to unlisted (e. g. to pin a comment available immediately at release, or in our case to use Taja for optimizing) , and then set it back to private (to add them to playlists without the videos showing up there before publishing, which would happen to unlisted videos added to playlists). And then they publish a few hours or even several days later by setting it to public. IMHO one good explanation of the details is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHfm7WpEdVI
