Q: is teable just updated version of AiTable?

I am an early supporter of your previous product, AiTable, which I purchased via AppSumo in 2024. While the platform is still functional, I’ve noticed that it lacks many of the advanced features now being introduced in Teable.

It feels as though the development focus has shifted toward creating a brand-new product instead of enriching the existing AiTable ecosystem. This raises a significant concern for me as a customer: If I invest in Teable now, what guarantee do I have that it will continue to be improved?

Will you commit to long-term development for Teable, or will it eventually be left behind in favor of a new project once the initial sales phase is over? I would appreciate some transparency regarding your roadmap and your commitment to your early adopters.

A: I'm an early co-founder and CTO of the company behind AITable. Teable is what I built after I left and started over with a new team.

There were many reasons I left, but the core one was this: AITable drifted from its original vision. Product decisions became increasingly short-sighted, no longer grounded in long-term value. Once a product loses that, stagnation is inevitable. And eventually, it did stagnate. That was a painful thing to watch — and it's what pushed me to start again.

Teable is not an upgraded AITable. We spent three years rebuilding the entire system from scratch with a new team. You can feel it in every detail — the depth of AI Agent capabilities, the flexibility of automation, the way the database handles large-scale data, the App Builder that's truly grounded in your own data. We put everything into this. The goal was simple: build something that leaves every other product in this category behind.

So — what's the guarantee?
No one can promise the future. But here are the facts: Teable is the only thing we're working on. Large companies use it, small teams use it, every single day. Our business model is built on long-term retention, not one-time sales. If we stop improving, we don't have a business. You may have heard of Manus and HeyGen — we're backed by the same VCs behind both. That's not a name-drop. It means we have the resources, the patience, and the runway to build this for the long term.

On roadmap — we had one. We dropped it. The reason is simple: the best ideas always emerge through iteration, and they're almost always better than what was originally planned. Holding rigidly to a roadmap just gets in the way of doing the right thing. What has never changed is this: making it easy for anyone to handle genuinely complex work. That's not a feature. It's the standard we hold every decision to.

Your concern is legitimate. We'll be here.

Has Biki ai also been shelved like AITables as well?

Bika is a product built by the team after I had already left, so I honestly don't have visibility into their current direction or plans. I can't speak to that one.

+1 same concern here. AiTable was great but seems they pivoted to Teable. I hope for a fair and clean answer before pushing the button or not. About AI models for image gen etc. which ones are supported too?

Oh my word, I went all in on AiTable. I loved it, but now I can see it really lagging behind. I am now searching for something and now feel bummed out, as these are the same creators. AiTable just needed a bit more love, it could've competed with the big boys, Bika I just never liked.... and now I'm on this one and I'm scared to invest.

Hi! You can check our image model suport here: https://help.teable.ai/en/changelog#ai-fields-model-selection-upgrade

And TEABLE is amazing.....but witout more info i'd be another red flag product.

I can't undo thing on AITable. But this time is different: independent team, independent product, business model built on long-term retention not one-time sales. I'm here personally responding to every comment because every user matters. We will keep iterating — not as a promise, but because that's the only way we stay in business.

@bieber_teable, thanks for your honest feedback, our concerns were clearly based on the previous experience.Business is hard and AI is moving very fast. What can happen is unpredictable, but since we have also been there, what i recomment, is, in case you sell the business, to make sure the new owners will "honour" the old lifetime customers and not force to switch to a subscription based model.

We fully understand how you feel, but please trust us. Moreover, your rights and interests are protected by our contract with AppSumo. In short, look forward to Teable becoming the #1 database agent!
