Hi there, I recently purchased TextLink (Tier 1) on AppSumo. I installed the Android app using the official link and granted all necessary permissions, including battery and background activity. However, my device does not appear on the Dashboard under "Devices and Setup", even after restarting, reinstalling, and checking my internet connection. I’ve followed all the instructions carefully and made sure everything is correctly configured. Could the issue be related to me using the service from Portugal? I would really appreciate your guidance on how to proceed. Thanks in advance for your support!
Does the Android phone that I have access to need to be active and on a cell plan? Or can it be used through WiFi without being activated? It has SIM card, but it’s one that I don’t ever use…
A: We built TextLink from scratch, and iterated it over last year based on our customers' feedback, while VoidFix looks exactly like RBSoft's white-label SMS Gateway template.
I don't quite understand their socket-based billing plan, but on TextLink your price is based on amount of messages you need to send, since messages primarily influence our servers' resource usage.
We offer different tools and integrations, and for that, I think that the best thing for you is to try both softwares to see which works better for you (both of us offer free trials).
I also encourage you to join our Discord Server, where we post updates, and you can chat with us and our community.
Am I sending SMS messages through my own carrier or through TextLink? And if I am bringing my own carrier, can I assume that I would be limited to whatever my carrier allows? So I wouldn't be able to set the outbound CallerID, etc.
In addition to my main number through T-Mobile. I also have a virtual number through them that I can access with my Pixel 6 and their DIGITS app. Will your service work with that number?
thx for the reply. I'll ask them if I have as eSIM option
Q: Can it be used for Agency?
I'd really love to use this for my agency clients, but a major concern is data access. The only way it could work is either a client is only able to access their own SMS or not be able to access any SMS messages at all through your no-code app.
Say I created a subaccount for a client. When they log into the gateway app on the phone for setup, are they able to access the SMS messages platform through there? Or is there a separate place to login to access the SMS messages?
A: Hi, in the current state, every team member can see and chat with all contacts, but can filter out the ones they chat the most to be shown first. However, we are considering adding the option for private chats between team members and contacts based on the feedback we got
Since you already have filters in place, you could implement a way to link numbers to accounts then add another set of invisible filters that limits the message and contact visibility to only numbers linked to an account.
I will full stack if this is implemented before the deal is done. It will be very attractive to many other Agency users too
If the Android app (phone) and the TextLink dashboard (computer) are on 2 different locations, do I need to share my TextLink login (email & password) to the person on the other end?
Or is there a workaround for the phone app login without sharing my credentials?
A: Hello there, currently you have to share the password with the person on the other end, but we will add this problem to our roadmap. You can see it when it becomes live on our Discord server or in our Telegram group.
Now you can just create a new team member account for guy that does the setup for you, and give that subaccount random password, and he can log in to that subaccount on his device
Q: Q's
1) Will I have to keep my andriod phone on at all times for this to work? Can the screen be lock screen locked or will the phone to be unlocked for this to work at all times?
2) Could we use a VPS of some stort to make this work or no? An andriod emulators online where we buy a sim and then stream it on on a VPS and such?
3) Will we see imessages at one point for iphone?
4) cost for additional SMS
5) I read that carriers can sue you if you use their phone plans outside of its intended purposes (.ie. meant for the average consumer who use the phone). Also how do emulate human behavior without making it seem like its bots)
6) where is your roadmap?
7) How does this work as agency? Can we add users and subaccount to mange clients' SMS campaigns?
A: 1) It can work with the screen off, but we recommend you to keep it on, because the OS settings can limit the app capabilities mostly due to the battery usage optimizations.
2) We use Android's native Subscription Manager and SmsManager. If emulator can emulate them, it will work.
3) Android SDK is more open that IOS SDK, which is why we can't enable SMS Gateway on IOS. Other than that, IOS devices can use our dashboard and API.
4) You only pay the carrier fees
5) We have message delivery systems which bypass the carrier time triggers. That is the reason why you can't send huge amount of messages all at once, but rather one by one.
6) Working on it :)
7) One account can have subaccounts, and each subaccount currently has access to all messages and chats, but can filter his own saved contacts.
Update on q7, subaccount system has been greatly upgraded and now it is more customizable (you can choose which subusers have access to which sending devices and to which contacts)
Q: Multiple users
Is there a way to have multiple users and multiple phone numbers -- eg Agency?
A: It is currently optimized for having one phone number per recipient country, but depending on the needed capabilities, we can upgrade the software. You can chat with multiple users from multiple team member accounts, and each of them has their own list of contacts.
We now fully support using multiple senders per recipient country. And team member accounts can have their chats hidden from other team members. Team members can also have their own devices that only the team members that admin allows to can access
Q: Can users be restricted to a certain amount of SMS credits and only access their workspace?
We have updated our subuser system to enable admin to impose SMS limits on subusers, and you can toggle users to only have access to their own workspace by restricting their device and contact access
Q: Fair usage limit question
For the fair use policy of "We limit your SMS to 1 message every 3-4 seconds due to our fair use policy."
Is this limit for the whole account ? or per SMS attached ?
So I have 3 SMS's attached can I send 3 messages every 3 to 4 seconds ?
No, you can attach as many devices/sims as you want to.
Q: Sub-Accounts?
Do I need multiple phones and Textlink accounts if I am managing multiple businesses? Or can I set up multiple businesses with 1 phone.textlink account?
Hello, I am curious… 1. Do I need to use an android device 2. Will you ever bring integration capability to iPhone? 3. If I want to start using text link right away, am I able to send messages using your service at a rate per message sent?( this is until I get an android phone with a SIM card I can use) 4. Can you send photos or video media through the campaigns?
I look forward to your response I am trying to see if I can buy this deal before it’s gone! Thanks
A: 1.) Yes 2.) We can't, IOS prohibits access to the messaging API. We might be able to do something for iMessage in the future. 3.) You need to set up your own device with a SIM card first. 4.) Not currently, but MMS is something we're working on.
A: Our app is branded as our app, not white label when installed. By white label we meant the API's that you set up. With so many requests for white labeled app, we might do it in the near future.
CodeQueen: Thanks for asking the question. I was about to ask the same one before I saw your message. My use case is similar whereby I want my customers to text certain keyword to Twilio number and they get back a reply (2-way messaging) with a coupon offer, website link, etc. It would be awesome to have this feature :-) As of now, is this tool essentially for mass texting; one way; no reply?
Q: Is this android only for the app, but can be used on iPhone with a browser window? Thanks
Say that I purchase the 100.000 messages a month plan, and my cell phone can only delivery 150 messages a day, I might need to use several cell phones ate once, or a Gateway GSM suporting more than 20 sims at once. Do you support such a setup? Because otherwise, being able to send only 150 messages a day, any plan with more than 4500 messages a month would be uselles.
A: We do the phone number rotation if you set up multiple devices with TextLink. Also, if you start a conversation with a phone number, we keep the communication with the original device if available.

Q: Fair usage limit question
For the fair use policy of
"We limit your SMS to 1 message every 3-4 seconds due to our fair use policy."
Is this limit for the whole account ? or per SMS attached ?
So I have 3 SMS's attached can I send 3 messages every 3 to 4 seconds ?

ok so 10 SMS's attached would then work out to 10 messages every 3 to 4 seconds.
Is there a limit to how many SMS's / devices can be attached and sending simultaneously ?
No, you can attach as many devices/sims as you want to.
Q: Sub-Accounts?
Do I need multiple phones and Textlink accounts if I am managing multiple businesses? Or can I set up multiple businesses with 1 phone.textlink account?
Viktor_TextLink
Feb 20, 2025A: You can create multiple sub-accounts under one admin account and assign them each the numbers you want.
You can also set the limits of the sub accounts from your admin dashboard.

Q: sim access for unlimited users and devices
Can you assign/deny certain sims to certain sub accounts and throttle usage of texts allocated?
thanks...
Aleksandr_TextLink
Feb 19, 2025A: Yes, you have a full control over which team members can use which devices, as well as limits for sending SMS per team member.

Q: District Usage Issues
Are there any regional restrictions on this tool? Is there a local telecom provider's rule that prevents its use, such as in Hong Kong or China?

Q: Does have the ability to auto respond based on keywords?
For example, I currently use Twilio. I have a workflow where it detects the word “website”.
So if someone texts me “what is your website” my auto responder will reply with “Here is a link to our website: www.google .com”
Do you have that functionality available?
If yes, is there a limit on how many keywords can be configured?
