Q: For multiple employees and bookings?

Is Tidycal something I can use for my business, where I hire contract employees to schedule their own client meetings? If so, how does this work within the paid booking feature where I would create a small percentage of their client meeting fee directed towards the business? If these are not options, what are some booking software options that would allow this?

A: Hello 111067009734007169443,

Thank you for your email and your question.

TidyCal is made for freelancers and solopreneurs and still has no capability of supporting teams of more than one person.
You will not be able to manage the schedule of more than one person or their shared calendars, or have multiple users charging for bookings and taking a percentage from those charges, for example.

However there are few potential apps you could explore and see if they can fit your needs.
For example:

1. Acuity Scheduling (now part of Squarespace Scheduling)

Overview: Acuity allows employees (contractors in your case) to set up their availability and manage their own bookings. You can integrate it with payment gateways like Stripe and PayPal, which can facilitate the payment split.
Key Features:
Contractors can manage their schedules and bookings independently.
You can collect payments from clients upfront and automate commissions via payment gateway setup (you’d manage the percentage fee manually through integration).
Works with Stripe to facilitate split payments (though you may need to set this up).
Customizable branding and seamless client experience.
Best for: Small to mid-size businesses where contractors need individual booking calendars.

2. Setmore

Overview: Setmore is an easy-to-use platform that offers appointment scheduling and integrates with payment gateways like Stripe or Square.
Key Features:
Multiple calendars for your contractors, allowing them to manage their appointments.
Integration with Stripe or Square allows you to collect payments.
You could manually set up a commission structure by routing payments to a business account first and then paying contractors their share.
Automated email reminders and a clean user interface for clients and employees.
Best for: Simpler setups where employees need control over their calendars.

3. Fresha

Overview: Originally designed for beauty and wellness businesses, Fresha can also be used for appointment scheduling in other industries. It offers a commission model for businesses.
Key Features:
Free appointment scheduling platform for professionals.
You can charge a commission per booking directly from the app.
Built-in payment processing with options for deducting commissions.
Staff can manage their own bookings and client payments.
Integrations with major payment processors for easy transaction management.
Best for: Industries like wellness, beauty, and fitness, or those with similar scheduling needs.

4. Vagaro

Overview: Similar to Fresha, Vagaro caters to fitness, wellness, and beauty industries but can be adapted for any business that schedules appointments.
Key Features:
Allows contractors to create and manage their schedules.
Built-in payment processing with options for automatically deducting a business percentage from fees.
Customizable commission structures.
Recurring billing for clients and employee payroll features.
Best for: Businesses that need full control over bookings, payments, and commission payouts.

We trust this will help and wish you a great day!
