Q: Is it possible to manually make a booking in the back end that overrides the online availability.

I need to be able to make bookings on behalf of my clients where payment isn’t taken and could be out of my published availability. I know if can make a seperate booking type unpublished to override the payment request but I can’t find a way to override the availability without having to adjust the times first and then go back to the booking link.

A: Hi there,

Yes, you can manually make a booking in the back end of TidyCal that overrides the online availability. To achieve this, you can create a "Private Booking Type" specifically for bookings that need to be made on behalf of your clients outside of your published availability.

When you create a Private Booking Type, it won't be publicly visible like your regular booking types. This means that you can use it to book appointments for your clients without the need for payment.

Here are the steps to set up a Private Booking Type:

1. Go to your TidyCal dashboard and navigate to the "Booking Types" section.
2. Click on "Add Booking Type" and set it to Private under the advanced settings.
3. Customize the settings for this private booking type, including the appointment duration, time slots, and any other details specific to your client's needs.
4. Save the Private Booking Type.

Now, when you need to make a booking on behalf of your client, you can use this Private Booking Type and select the desired time slot. It won't be visible to the public. To visit the private booking type click the link of the booking type found on your user interface.

Keep in mind that bookings made using the Private Booking Type will still be added to the primary calendar you have integrated with TidyCal, allowing you to manage all appointments efficiently.

If you have any further questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out. We're here to help you make the most of TidyCal for your business needs.

Thank you for using TidyCal, and we hope this solution addresses your requirements!

I can't reschedule an existing "proper" booking as an override without editing the heck out of the meeting parameters, making the booking change, then editing my booking type back to the way it was before the rebooking override. It's infuriating. Yes, you can make a "secret" booking type for this, but that's not the point of a professional booking system where the owner should be able to reschedule their own meetings without jumping through hoops.

I am having this issue as well. I need to reschedule a time for day of (I don't let new bookings choose this option). There is no way to go back and override the settings, which means I now need to go in and change the settings twice to make just one update. I would love to see this feature added so I don't have to jump through hoops to reschedule.
