First, I want to congratulate the team from vidBoard AI for all the hard work they have put into this product. While some reviewers in this forum have given them subpar ratings, that has not been my experience with this tool. To address FernandoS's concern regarding the default voice sounding like a '90s TTS program: while the default voice may not be the best, you have the option to use 11 Labs voices, which I haven't seen in other products. The quality of voices available within the system is, in fact, quite impressive. For me, this was the biggest selling point, and I recognized its value. Which other system allows you to use 11 Labs voiceover voices of such quality?

It's important to remember that these are startup companies, often only a few months or years old, and there will always be room for improvement. Additionally, they’re not funded by external entities, so much of their support comes from users like us and the personal investments they made to start these companies. Yes, there are better solutions out there, but you will never find a lifetime deal for those solutions. If you're looking for that level of professional quality, you would need to pay top dollar to create videos in a professional studio. Yes for us that have used this product we know there are glitches that need to be fixed—some of which may have already been addressed—but like any system, updates and patches are continuously being developed.

I also want to address M07's review, which I believe is not fair without understanding what being a bootstrap startup means. These businesses do not have unlimited funds and are doing their best with the resources available. As the founding team has mentioned, the capabilities of this tool have significantly increased in the past few months. While there is still room for improvement, if you are unaware of the current limitations and how to follow an effective workflow to create videos, your user experience might not be satisfactory. However, if you take time to watch some of the instructional videos they provide, you will find that you can create better content. One can do some research before buying any product on AppSumo, especially if there's video content published on YouTube or documentation available. This can help you understand the product's current capabilities and limitations.

Another aspect to consider is what future upgrades are in store, as that impacts what users can expect from the platform. While the system may not be perfect, recognizing its potential to continuously improve and provide better quality AI-generated videos suggests a favorable outlook. That is my opinion, based on my interactions with this tool, the development team, and Ashwin, the co-founder of the vidBoard AI team. I believe in this team, which is why I personally purchased the Tier 5 package. I may not use all those credits in one month, but it's better to have them and not need them than to need them and not have them.

Also, to finally address some concerns about people thinking the company is a scam or not legitimate, I had the pleasure of having a video conversation with Ashwin. He addressed all my concerns and provided me with a clear path forward on how the issues I was facing would be resolved. Based on my experience, their customer support is excellent, and they respond quickly to any concerns I have. I highly recommend this product to anyone considering it for their content creation work.

I am sorry to tell you this but the way this tool is promoted is misleading.

This is the first time I ever write a review on Appsumo but I felt compelled to do so, because this is the first time I'm a 100% dissatisfied with a tool I bought on Appsumo

I purchased Tier 2 (for context).

Yes, I know probably if I contacted support and have a 100 emails back and forth some of the issues may be solved but I expected something way better that what I got. That is why it's not worth the trouble of going through support. There are many better alternative AI video generation tools. The free plans of some tools are much better than the Tier 2 I purchased.

Let me list a few of the most important lacking features:

First of all, it is supposed to be an AI video creation tool, but there is a lot of manual work involved that wastes a lot of time. Also, the editing possibilites are rigid and very limited. A simple example: you have to select the voice for each slide seperately! Each slide is reset to the default voice and if you don't pay attention, your video will have different voices for the same Avatar.

There is no AI feature that adds relevant images or video clips according to text or voice. All images and clips have to be searched for or uploaded and added manually.

If you want to create a video from a template you cannot delete the slides in that template. You have to use them all.

The "create video from document" feature did't work for me at all.

AI script creates a max of 10 slides

You cannot change the length of a backgound video clip to match the length of the created voice. So, if the clip is 10 seconds and the voice is 20 seconds, the last 20 seconds will a still background.

You cannot add 2 video fragments and have them play after each other in the same slide.

You cannot easily delete any element on a template slide. You either use it as is or select a completely different backgrount.

Those are some of the shortcomings I faced within the first 30 minutes of using vidBoard.

Yes, I know this might be an MVP but with what is available in the market even an MVP has to match some better standards.

Yes it has Avatars, Yes you can convert text to ai voice for each slide and you can create some basic AI scripts for slides (not a full AI video script), but overall, in my opnion this tool is not a good functioning AI video creation tool.

I recently discovered that vidBoard was on appsumo and wanted to give a shout out and express my admiration for the incredible work you have done in creating such a great product, although I don't usually write reviews, I am a huge fan of these tools and use them for work. Your platform really stands out because it combines speed, simplicity with the power of AI-generated video.

What impresses me the most is how vidBoard automates and enhances the video creation process, making it not only comprehensive but also accessible to both professionals and beginners. The range of features, such as in-video text creation, AI-powered avatars, and voiceovers, are very well thought out.
a lot of effort has gone into the development of vidBoard and it is clear that the platform while not 100% complete is designed to exceed the expectations of anyone involved in video production today, and I believe in that

TL;DR: Poor quality, glitchy software, and an overall bad experience.

I took advantage of the deal today in @AppSumo , but honestly, the experience was disappointing. For starters, the fact that the service doesn't even use its own product to showcase itself says a lot. I asked if the blonde lady featured in their materials was one of their avatars, and they confirmed she wasn’t—she’s just a friend of theirs.

On their website, there’s a banner below the video with the lady that says: "Trusted by the world’s best companies" and features logos like AppSumo, NVIDIA, Amazon, DMZ, and StackSocial. Come on, really? With this level of quality? Why would Amazon or NVIDIA use this product when they have their own far superior solutions? It just doesn’t add up.

Since I could refund and had some credits, I decided to give it a try anyway. Unfortunately, I hit issues right away. I tried uploading a video for dubbing, only to find out the maximum file size allowed is 30 MB (seriously?). I then tried with a 5 MB video (twice), and although the platform claimed it was uploaded, it was nowhere to be found.

Next, I tested one of their avatars. The default voice sounded like something from a 90’s TTS program—not what you'd expect today. While you can switch to Azure voices, which many similar tools use because they’re great, it doesn’t make up for the overall lack of quality.

The whole experience was glitchy, poorly executed, and not worth the investment. And how does this deal have 5 stars on AppSumo? At the very least, it’s suspicious. I’ve already requested a refund and wouldn’t recommend this deal to anyone.
