When I bought this in June, it created great Blog posts with screenshots. I upgraded to Tier 3 to be able to use Claude 3 Opus, which was a guaranteed feature in the Appsumo terms. We briefly received it and the Blogposts got even better. From a 10 minute video (2000 words) it created the best blogpost with screenshots I had seen (tutorials), with 1200 words.

Then the refund window had closed. And they destroyed the product:
- An "upgrade" took away the Claude 3 Opus we had paid for on Tier 3. They confirmed it in the questions. This slightly degraded the Blog post quality, but since we could use a custom prompt, I worked several hours to refine the custom prompt to get useful Blog posts again.

- While we later got a few additional outputs like LinkedIn and E-Mail templates (medicore quality, useless for me) and an improved shorts generator (every free tool and their dog generates shorts now), the Blog post quality then rapidly declined last fall:

- Right now, it only generates 650 - 700 word blog posts, even from very detailed 15 minute video with 3000 words (when it was good, it created 1200 words from a 10 minute/2000 words tutorial).
- The quality is now low. It sounds boring and too many important details are missing. It was great before, but is destroyed now (seems they've switched to an even cheaper model after already switching down from the Claude 3 Opus we had been promised lifetime access to).
- Event he automatic screenshots are gone now. Not a single one is included, I have to click and add them myself.

This has been like this for several months. I patiently waited for improvement. It never came.

I also got videotoblog, which is from a single person developing it. It was on par with videotap last June, but now it got even better and keeps improving. I understand the videotap developers have no interest in further developing their tool after ending their AppSumo sale (last update in changelog is from October). But they should at least have kept it at the level they sold it too us. They have completely destroyed the blogpost functionality, it's just useless crap now.

Not only did I pay several hundred dollars for Tier 3, I also spend days learning the nuances of the tool, tweaking the blog posts and so on. It's all lost now, the money and the time.

They waited till the refund window closed, then took away features mentioned in the deal term (e. g. Claude 3 Opus), and it's completely useless now. Unfortunately, they claim to still be in business and the site is still accessible, so we are not even covered under the AppSumo select guarantee: we can still access the tool — it just does not do what it did when we bought it anymore, and we don't get the features we paid for. This is fraud.

I’ve tried a few tools for cutting up video content, but I never really got granular until recently. While I can’t speak for every option out there, I have to say that Video Tap has made my life so much easier. The subtitles feature alone is fantastic, but it’s the simplicity of grabbing clips, cutting them up, and making adjustments that really stands out. There’s practically no learning curve!

I’m still getting the hang of it, but as a test, I threw a 30-minute video into the platform. Within 15 minutes, everything was polished exactly how I wanted it. For the price point you can't really beat it. It's a no brainer for anyone who records video and puts out content.

I bought VideoTap a long time ago. I tried adding a video again and again the service says -

We ran into an error
Sorry, the little robots running our site slipped on a banana."

I did not find any contacts for technical support on the site.

You answered me here in the comments:
"There is a bubble at the bottom right of the site that will let you submit a support request. If you can't see it, please disable any ad blocker you may have running.

We're currently experiencing an issue with processing YouTube videos and are working to fix it. If you manually upload a video, the platform should still work beautifully."

There is no way to send a message to technical support. Not on the main page and on the one that still gives an error. There are no ad blockers, I opened your site in Google Chrome, Opera and Microsoft. You write that there are problems with YouTube now. But there have been problems with YouTube for more than six months. How can you sell your service if you cannot work with the main product for video bloggers? In addition, earlier, I uploaded the video separately - the same result. The same error is displayed and it is impossible to go to the main page of the service. I repeat - I do not have ad blockers.

Maybe you are deceiving Appsumo. Maybe the service works for some, but for many it does not work. You have removed the ability to write to technical support. This is amazing!

I would really like to give you a positive review, but you can't solve my problem with your service.

I've tried a lot of the video repurposing tools on the market and Video Tap blows them all out of the water! I love the quality of the output written content and it's automatic clip selection is the best I've seen.

This is the number one tool I recommend to my clients for video repurposing!

Before October of 2024, the platform had a few hiccups, but it was a pleasure to work with and develop clips from. It has been error-prone, and no support is being offered, with the platform being unusable to me now. I tried reaching out to support multiple times to no avail. Be wary. It sucks because this was my go-to video clip platform until it became completely unusable, and when no one at the company responded to support emails.

I don't recommend this deal unfortunately.
