Vitepos - Point of Sale (POS) Reviews

I installed Vitepos as part of my WooCommerce/POS setup, but my security scanner (Malcare- also purchased on appsumo) has now flagged a file inside the Vitepos plugin directory as infected:

/wp-content/plugins/vitepos/vitepos/helper/plugin-helper.php

The detection was reported on June 10, 2026. Because this file is located directly inside the Vitepos plugin folder, I had to treat it as a serious WordPress security incident. I deactivated the plugin, began scanning the full site, and now have to verify whether this was a compromised plugin file, a vulnerability-related issue, or some other form of infection.

This is especially concerning because a POS plugin is not a small add-on. It sits close to WooCommerce operations, store data, transactions, and customer trust. A plugin used for sales and checkout operations has to meet a very high security standard.

At this point, I cannot continue using Vitepos until the issue is fully resolved and the site scans clean. I would strongly recommend that the developer investigate this file path, confirm whether the current release is clean, explain what may have triggered the infection warning, and provide clear remediation steps for affected users.

The plugin may have useful functionality, but security has to come first. Right now, this experience has made me pause deployment and reconsider whether Vitepos is safe enough for a live business environment.

I switched from FooSales, which I have had since the beginning of Corona. Vitepos POS is a game-changer, and given that I got a great deal via AppSUMO, it just makes it sweeter. I went ahead and took the lifetime deal, which was cheaper than 1 year of FooSales subscription!!!

I was really worried and didn't know what to do, because FooSales had "split" payments. Vitepos POS does not promote it... But you can actually split the payment multiple ways. Cash+Swipe+BankTransfer+ whatever you have saved as extra forms of payment!

I can even create a product on the fly... so a product just arrived and the customer walks in... I can create the product using ViteposPOS and have it in my WooCommerce, no need to go to the backend to add products... that is also a plus that was not in FooSales.

Overall, this is a very good POS system for WooCommerce. It offers a lot of features you might not expect, including a built-in barcode generator, which is a really nice addition. The integration with a barcode scanner is also a big plus and makes the system feel much more practical for real-world retail use.

I also appreciate that it offers some customization for how the front end of the POS system looks and functions. The stock management tools are helpful as well, especially if you are trying to keep WooCommerce and in-person sales working together.

I’m giving it 4 tacos because the software itself is strong, but support has been a real issue. Several of the support links on the website no longer seem to work, and submitting a support ticket requires a valid license number. Unfortunately, the license number provided to me is not recognized as valid when I try to enter it. That leaves you mostly relying on the documentation when you run into a problem.
