Impressive Tool
I picked up Vois after almost a month of deliberation. I liked that Vois would run on my hardware, but I wasn't sure about the voice quality or the rough edges other reviewers have mentioned.
I plan to use it for podcasting with multiple speakers and for role-playing scenarios. I also want to use it for creating audio versions of a library of books I have been working on.
Out of the gate, I had an issue activating the purchase. I tried to resolve it, but couldn't. I reached out to Support, and Praney responded quickly.
Once I gained access, I listened to all of the 212 available voices. The selection is pretty amazing. I favorited many. I cloned my voice and was astounded by how good it sounded. I'd been using JoggAI for voiceovers. I think those days are over. Yeah, my cloned voice was that good.
I tried a two-person podcast and ran into some issues. There were a couple of places in the transcript where a long pause occurred. There was another issue where the end of the sentence in the conversation just disappeared and left about a 10-second space of dead air.
This morning, I loaded a portion of a book chapter I've been working on. It was over 23 minutes long. It sounded great! No lagging or missing sections of text.
I purchased the Tier 3 license out of the gate because I saw potential in Vois. The only issue thus far appears to be with multiple speakers. It is a big issue, but Praney is very responsive.
I am confident he will get this corrected, so I will be upgrading to the Pro account.
Vois brings capabilities and options to the tool stack that I don't currently have.

Oct 14, 2026Thank you for such a thoughtful and candid review. I’m glad the voice selection and your cloned voice impressed you, and that your longer book passage came through without missing sections.
I’m sorry for the initial activation trouble and for the long pauses and missing dialogue in your two-speaker podcast. That is a significant interruption to the workflow you bought Vois Studio for, and a...

A promising, multi-purpose tool with a few rough edges
I actually hit the ground running with Vois Studio, which is allowing me to share my thoughts perhaps a bit sooner than I normally would. Still, bear that in mind that I'm still learning the tool and may uncover more along the way, but I was able to get up and running quickly and actually created real content so I feel like I'm reasonably qualified to speak to it even at this early stage.
My short review: Vois is a capable tool that has a few areas that need some polish and improvement, but is business-ready if you're able to work around those rough edges (I was). If I could give a more nuanced rating, I'd probably go 4.5 tacos to reflect that "almost there" status, but for a relatively young product, I was pleasantly surprised by how good it already is. So I'm happy to round up to 5 tacos to reflect that as well as the potential I see.
My longer review:
My specific use case is that I regularly create short podcasts for myself and my clients, so Vois' voice cloning and script features were very familiar to me. I had been leveraging a SaaS product (Wondercraft) to do this, and while it's not terribly expensive, I was paying for more than I ultimately needed, especially with their push to get me to upgrade to access their new AI tools.
While Vois does not have all the shiny, built-in AI functionality (note: they have rolled out the ability to use local AI agents through CLIs), the core capabiltiies are pretty solid. I cloned three voices within minutes, learned how to craft and annotate my script pretty easily, and it generated an almost-ready-to-use audio file on the first pass.
Further, the interface is pretty easy to figure out, though it lacks a few conveniences that I'd like to see added soon (more on that below). Still, I was able to go from download to having my first episode finished in about an hour.
Setup isn't too bad, though I ended up redoing my clones a few times. Vois is particular about the clip length (it must be under 60 seconds long), and I found that I needed a really clean recording to upload.
Here's my more detailed list of Pros (+), Cons (-), and Observations (/):
+ The ability to run an unlimited number number of generations is very nice. No need to monitor a credit allowance!
+ If you have any experience with an editor, Vois is pretty easy to figure out. It has it's own specific quirks, but the fact that I went from installation to a finished product in about an hour I think is telling
+ You can override pronunciations on a global or project-specific basis
+ There's a solid selection of pre-built voices to select from, along with the ability to clone voices (the number of clones being based on your plan)
+ There's an easy way to add some audio "personality" - a chuckle, sigh, etc. - into your recordings
+ Adding music is simple to do and, again, there's some built-in options or you can upload your own
/ Processing time was reasonable. As everything runs locally, your experience will depend on your hardware. I'm running on a 3 year old business-focused Windows machine - not a gaming rig - and Vois was acceptably fast
/ The tagging of the script is pretty easy though some keyboard shortcuts would be welcome rather than having to mouse-click everything
/ There's mention of an Ultra or Pro plan in the software but it's not currently available. However, if/when it is, there's apparently going to be an additional fee associated with it
/ If you are doing anything commercial with your recordings, you need to be on Tier 3
- Every run seemed to create at least one audio artifact - an unexplained pause, an odd pronounciation, or an unwanted word (on one point, Vois said "dot" when there was a period)
- The timeline interface is 85% great, but lacks a built-in scroll bar which was surprising
- There's no option to regenerate just one clip so Vois reprocesses everything when you have a change. To the positive, it recognizes unchanged clips and skips those, but to the negative, every time you regenerate, it resets all the timeline changes (moving around clips or shortening them all gets reset).
- Vois could benefit from more contextual recognition. Take "read" for example: "I read the book" vs. "I will read the book" both generated with a past tense pronunciation. I had to fake Vois out by switching it to "reed"
Still, I'm pleased with the purchase. It's a rare experience for me to find something on AppSumo that can fully replace an existing tool from the outset but it looks like Vois is going to be that for me. I do see room for further refinement, but where the product is at already is impressive and I see things only getting better from here.

Oct 10, 2026Hi cspanier,
Thank you for such a detailed review and the five tacos. Going from installation to a finished podcast in about an hour, with three cloned voices, is a great result. I'm glad Vois Studio is already useful for your own podcasts and client work, and that being able to revise without watching a generation credit meter makes a difference.
I also appreciate the honest 4.5-taco...

The most stress-free text-to-voice tool I’ve used (with a few hardware caveats)
Overall, I’ve been very pleased with Vois Studio. The single biggest win here is workflow freedom: when you’re trying to get a line read just right, you don’t have to sit there counting credits as they drain away with every minor adjustment. That alone makes it the most stress-free way to generate text-to-speech. Seriously... I can't tell you how good it feels not to feel guilty about just one more run.
Quick Highlights:
* Zero Credit Anxiety: Perfect for tweaking words, cadence, and timing without worrying about a burning meter.
* Audio Quality: Extremely solid. It’s not quite the flagship polish of ElevenLabs, but it easily beats most standard cloud tools I’ve used.
* Hardware Demands: It is a resource hog. Needs solid specs to unlock its full potential without relying solely on Lite mode.
* Voice Cloning: Worked seamlessly on my desktop, but crashed on my 16GB laptop during reading/rendering.
* Support: Fast, responsive, and actively looking into the laptop rendering issue.
* Catalog Diversity: Needs a wider selection of ethnic and regional dialects (or deeper customization tools) for complex multi-character projects like fiction.
A couple of honest observations on hardware and features:
First, it is definitely a resource hog if you want to push it to its full potential. It will run on my HP Victus laptop (16GB RAM), but only in Lite mode. The stock catalog voices work well enough on the laptop, but when I tried reading with my own cloned voice, it crashed—the cloning process itself went fine, just not the playback render. That said, support was quick to respond and is actively looking into it. When I moved the clone over to my desktop, it ran without a hitch.
Second, the audio quality is very strong compared to most cloud solutions out there. It’s not quite ElevenLabs level yet, but standard tier output is genuinely good—if the Omni upgrade is a step above this, it must be impressive.
My main wishlist item is voice and accent diversity. In my writing, I deal with characters from all over—different ethnic backgrounds and distinct regional dialects (deep Southern, New York, Midwest, Canadian, etc.). I know building out every demographic and sub-region is a massive undertaking, but to become the top-tier player in this space, Vois will either need a much broader ethnic/regional catalog or better tools for users to tweak and customize accents easily on their own. Maybe that is what Omni offers, I don't know.
It’s not quite ready to handle every single intricate character voice for a novel, but for the vast majority of everyday text-to-voice needs, it is ready to be your workhorse. Well worth grabbing.

Oct 1, 2026Hi ClankerCart,
Thank you for such a detailed, balanced review. Being able to try “just one more run” without watching a credit meter is exactly the freedom I want Vois to give you. I’m glad that’s making a difference in your workflow.
I’m sorry the cloned-voice rendering has been unreliable on your laptop. Your distinction is important: creating the clone succeeded, but using it to generate...

Why buy Vois when you have three other text to voice programs?
Why buy Vois when you already own other text-to-speech tools?
I’ve purchased many TTS programs over the years, including a few on AppSumo. Most of them are useful. Very few replace the others. Vois is one of the few that actually earned a permanent place on my machine.
The biggest reason is simple: it runs on your own computer. Because generation is local, there are virtually no practical limits on how long a file can be. You are not watching a character meter, a minute cap, or a “this chapter will cost extra” warning. For audiobooks, courses, long YouTube scripts, and multi-episode podcasts, that changes how you work. You can rewrite a paragraph, regenerate it, and keep going.
The voices are quite good and expressive. This is not the flat, robotic TTS a lot of us settled for a few years ago. The AppSumo version also comes with a massive voice library, so you can actually cast a project instead of forcing one generic narrator onto everything.
Two-person / multi-speaker support is rare
This is only the second text-to-speech program I’ve found that handles two-person podcasts well. You can assign different voices to speakers in one script and generate the conversation instead of stitching separate files together. If you make interview-style shows, explainers with a host and co-host, or dialogue-heavy training content, that alone is a strong reason to own it.
Voice cloning and voice design
Clones are very good and only take a few seconds to create. They were also surprisingly free of background noise. Vois does not only clone voices — you can design them as well. The results are clear and expressive enough for real published work, not just demos.
One caveat from my first tests: cloned voices worked in test mode but produced gibberish when I tried to generate from text. After several upgrades, I’m not sure whether a patch fixed it or whether recreating the clone did. When I rebuilt the cloned voice, everything worked fine. If a clone sounds broken, recreate it from a short, clean sample before assuming the product is unusable.
What concerned me
The other issue was support. While I was fighting the clone problem, I could not find an email address or an obvious support link. The problem is resolved now, but I hope the Vois team publishes a clear support path. Local software is great until something goes wrong and you cannot find a human.
Who this is for
Vois is a comprehensive package with almost no usage limits. Because it lives on your computer, you do not have to worry that a subscription change, credit increase, or shutdown will cut you off from a tool you already paid for.
It also includes a CLI, so an AI agent can drive the system. That is useful if you already generate scripts with ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Cursor and want the voice step in the same workflow.
Bottom line
If you only need the occasional 30-second voiceover, you may already have enough tools. If you produce a lot of audio — long files, multi-speaker scripts, cloned brand voices, or content you do not want uploaded to a cloud TTS service — Vois is one of the few AppSumo TTS deals that is not just “another voice pack.” It is a local studio: unlimited generation, strong voices, cloning, voice design, multi-speaker podcasts, and room to grow.
I’d buy it again. Just plan on a short learning curve with clones, and I would like to see support made easier to find.

Oct 1, 2026Thank you for such a thoughtful review—and for giving Vois a place alongside tools you already know well. It means a lot to hear that local generation and the multi-speaker workflow are making a practical difference.
I’m glad your cloned voice is working now, and I’m sorry for the frustrating start. Your distinction between what worked in the preview and what happened during generation is useful...
