So the tool is now primarily meant to create Shorts from long videos, right? It isn’t a true Descript alternative that you can use to edit videos in general, in landscape mode, to produce great YouTube videos. Is that correct? Did I understand that correctly?

Great question. Wisecut is not only for creating Shorts from long videos.
Inside Wisecut, there’s a tab called Full Video, which is made specifically for editing full-length videos, including landscape YouTube videos. In that mode, you can export the full video and apply edits like captions, silence removal, filler word removal, retake removal, background music with auto ducking, Studio Voice, trim, and more features coming soon.
So yes, Wisecut can be used to edit general YouTube videos in landscape mode, not just vertical Shorts.
