I picked up WPSmartPay because I wanted a simple way to accept payments on WordPress without having to install and maintain a full WooCommerce setup.

So far, I’m really impressed with how straightforward it is. The form builder is easy to work with, and setting up payment forms doesn’t feel unnecessarily complicated. I also like that it supports both one-time payments and subscriptions, which makes it useful for selling services, digital products, memberships, or even collecting donations.

The biggest advantage for me is that it stays focused on payments. If you don't need products, inventory, shipping, a shopping cart, and all the other overhead that comes with WooCommerce, WPSmartPay makes much more sense.

The dashboard is also nicely organized, and having customers, payments, invoices, subscriptions, and reporting in one place is a big plus.

I’m still exploring some of the more advanced features, so I’d like to see even more integrations and customization options added over time. But considering the AppSumo lifetime deal, I think this is a very solid product with a lot of potential.

Overall, definitely worth checking out.

Picked this up recently and I'm still going through everything, but there are a few things that made me pretty confident about the purchase.

At first I was mainly looking at it as a simpler way to handle payments on WordPress, but the feature set goes quite a bit beyond just putting a Stripe form on a page.

I particularly like that the form builder is actually Gutenberg based. The fields stay native to the editor instead of forcing you into another completely separate form builder.

Subscription handling also looks well thought out. Trials, custom billing intervals, setup fees, invoices, and especially the customer portal where users can manage their own billing/subscriptions are the kind of things that usually become important after a product starts getting real customers.

Still early for me, so I'm not going to claim I've tested every gateway or every edge case. But from what I've seen and explored so far, this feels like a product with a lot of thought behind it rather than another payment form plugin.

Finally, payments on WordPress without the WooCommerce bloat

I run a small service-based business and all I needed was a way to collect payments and send invoices — I didn't need an entire e-commerce store. WP SmartPay was exactly the answer. I connected my Stripe account, picked a form template, and had a working checkout page live in under five minutes. No code, no shopping cart, no bloat.

I grabbed WPSmartPay on AppSumo right after seeing the launch and spent some time testing it on a WordPress site. My main goal was to see how easy it would be to create a payment form and get the whole flow working without having to install WooCommerce or build a bunch of extra stuff around it.

The setup was surprisingly straightforward. I especially liked the Gutenberg-based form builder and the fact that payments, customers, invoices and reporting are all handled from the WordPress dashboard. It feels much lighter than setting up a full ecommerce stack when all you really need is a way to collect payments.

I also tested the payment form and some of the basic settings, and everything worked as expected in my initial testing. The overall UI is clean and the plugin feels like it has been thoughtfully put together.

Since I’m still early in testing it, I haven’t had a chance to put every feature through real-world use yet. One thing I’d like to see improved over time is more flexibility in customizing some parts of the checkout experience. I’d also love to see even more integrations added as the product matures.

For a newly launched AppSumo deal, though, I’m genuinely impressed. It solves a very specific problem without trying to turn itself into another huge ecommerce platform.
