Hi. Can you add OpenRouter, so I can choose any LLM that I want? I'm not clear in wich tier I could use BYOK? OpenRouter let me use their API key and will give me better writing output if I could use the LLM of my choice. Check their website, its worth it. I see great potential with Youbooks if you include OpenRouter. Thank you.
A: Page count is not a good way to measure book size because word count by page can vary a lot. Typical non-ficiton books are 80K to 120K words. Assuming you don't use advanced AI models (I would not - they are too expensive, and provide marginal improvement) you can do 3 books and have credits left for sources and training one or two human models.
If you want to crank up volume, you need a BYOK...
Do I need to tell YouBooks what length of book I want? Or can I leave that decision for the AI to determine (optimize for) based on the intended purpose or conversion goal? Basically, I would like to create Books that that use good story telling techniques to support various concepts that our company sells around.
A: You have to set a word target when you submit a book project. Books can range from 15K words to 300K words, so, it's a very wide range, and Youbooks needs some direction before setting out to work for 2 days to deliver a 200K word project (for example).
The final word count will vary, and your target is only that - a target. In some rare occasions you might receive up to double the target word...
I currently hold a lifetime plan with Youbooks that resembles Tier One here. If I decide to purchase Tier Two, will it enhance my existing plan with Youbooks?
I purchased Tier 2 (today) and have not yet run a project.
1. You mention "4x for using Advanced AI models" - You predict, "...10-20% improvement in quality from using top-tier models." What are Advanced AI models? And what are the 'everyday' Non Advanced AI models? Are we talking Sonnet vs Opus etc?
2. I see in the AppSumo video different LLMs being used for different aspects of the production process. If I opt to bump up to Tier 3 or 4 to gain access to BYOK discounts, do I have the option to deploy a similar mix?
3. Is the "mix" spelled out so that I may copy what works?
4. The project setup makes what you call "prompting" seem like just a few simple one-liners. ("Describe the subject of your non-fiction book") Are we better off if we understand prompting - ie. Role, Task, Context, Self-Reflect, Meta-Fix, Output.

Q: Stackable?
Hi Ioannis,
I currently hold a lifetime plan with Youbooks that resembles Tier One here. If I decide to purchase Tier Two, will it enhance my existing plan with Youbooks?
Thanks.

Sep 30, 2025A: I am afraid the Appsumo LTD can only be applied to new accounts :(
Also, the other LTDs have ended, so there is no way to stack up the old accounts. Noet that your stacked accounts have access to Human Models already.
It's perfectly fine to create a new account (new email) for the Appsumo deal (not against TOS).
And thank you for your support and continued trust.

Same situation here and would love to be able to stack codes on my current plan.
Thank you Loannis

Sep 30, 2025A: No, we do not use Opus and in fact, we don't even allow BYOK customers to use Opus because it is too expensive and makes no sense to use it.
A non BYOK project will use models from all providers to complete different tasks. The discussion mode also uses Llama and Mistral.
During evals, we found that using much more expensue moels had a small increase in quality. So, if I were you, I would not...
