I’m new to Brilliant Directories, but so far I’m really impressed! The platform feels intuitive and well-organized, and I love how much potential it has for building and managing a professional directory.

Even as a newcomer, I can already see how useful the Tier 3 features—like member limits, business records, and storage—will be as I grow my site. The interface is clean, and I appreciate how the team seems committed to improving the platform. Excited to explore more!

One of the standout features for me was the AI integration. When you’re starting from scratch, having AI tools to help build your initial website is a massive time-saver. It gave me a solid foundation to work from without the usual "blank page" frustration.

My experience (Tier 5)
Many times I consider writing a review on AppSumo but end up postponing it. This time, I felt I should join other reviewers to share my impressions. I chose Tier 5 on AppSumo, and even in the early setup phase, it’s clear BD is built for quick launch: you start with a ready-made directory foundation, then customise categories, listings, and membership flows instead of building everything from scratch. Tier 5 also offers plenty of scope for scale (high member limits) and includes more advanced options like developer tools plus Zapier/webhook support, which makes automation and integrations feasible as the site grows. I selected Tier 5 because I felt it would suffice for a long time. Should I exceed its membership limitations, I would then consider upgrading.

What stands out
• Fast “time to first version”: Pre-built structure + templates make it achievable to publish a functional directory in a day and iterate from there.
• Strong membership + monetisation core: It’s designed around free/paid memberships, recurring billing, and member management rather than treating those as afterthoughts.
• Lots of flexibility without coding: Users often mention the balance of features and usability, especially for non-developers who still want a robust platform.
• Responsive support: I found reassurance in several AppSumo reviewers who consistently highlighted quick, helpful support interactions.

Minor cons (so far)
The platform is feature-rich, so there is a learning curve if you want to utilise everything to its full potential (but the depth is also the point). Also, if you’re extremely design-picky, you might find some layout/design constraints compared to fully custom development.

Overall, BD feels like a practical, business-ready directory/membership system—more “launch and operate” than “tinker forever.”

I'm just starting to dive into the platform, and i've only scratched the surface. Has a great interface that's straight to the point, and already thinking of more and more usecases as I get more involved with it.

I really like that it is set up to not just be a directory but a hub for whatever niche you choose. It is not something you can just do easily on WordPress. There is a learning curve but the Brilliant Directory bot has been so helpful with figuring things out fast. It doesn't know everything but it knows enough that it is really helpful. There are things I wish were different. Some of the add ons I wish just came with it and you didn't have to pay monthly for the extra. I get they need to make money too and it needs to be sustainable for them. Like as far as add ons I wish were included they would be Bookmark My Favorites, Advanced Post Moderation, Feature Members On Homepage, Limit Posts Per Member, Member Profile Badges, Member Profile Analytics, Simple Events Calendar. But overall I am very happy with Brilliant Directories. It is fairly easy to make the site look professional and useful.
