Q: Clarification Request Regarding Data Access and Account Privacy Practices

Hi DM Champ Team,

Since DM Champ states it is GDPR compliant, I’d like clarification on your current data access and privacy practices.

Could you please confirm:

1. When support or technical staff investigate an issue, what access can they have inside a user account? Can they view messages, conversations, or stored data, or only limited technical details?

2. Does DM Champ keep records of staff access to user accounts, including who accessed the account, when, and why? If yes, can the account owner request a copy or summary?

3. Are users notified when DM Champ staff access their account for support or review purposes? If so, is this before access, after access, or only in specific cases?

I’m asking to understand how DM Champ ensures transparency, limits access to what is necessary, and protects user privacy under GDPR.

A: Hi, thanks for the question. To your three points:

1) Access: When investigating a reported issue, a limited number of authorised staff can access account data, including conversations and stored content, but only as needed to look into that specific issue. Access is role-based and staff are bound by confidentiality it isn't open to the wider team.

2) Records: Yes, we keep logs of staff access. If you'd like a summary of the access relating to your own account, email [email protected] with "Privacy request" in the subject and we'll provide it.

3) Notifications: We don't currently send a notification when support accesses an account to investigate a reported issue.
