Lost money on a tool that couldn't sustain itself. Would have appreciated better customer protection from Appsumo but they conveniently placed themselves outside the refund guarantee.

The risk of using products, for a live business, from AppSumo is so great now that it outweighs any potential benefits or cost savings from these "lifetime" deals.
I have experienced this multiple times in 2025 and had already cancelled the auto-renewal of my plus membership.
For a live business that can't handle the risk of software companies just folding a year or two after launch, don't bother with these Appsumo deals anymore. For the odd "diamond in the rough" you may find, it will cost you way more in many other ways, including wasted time replacing failed software/companies and, worst of all, a bad experience for your customers!

The fact that Appsumo does not protect it's customers from businesses that default right outside of one year is unethical and fraudulent. This company closed it's doors just outside of a year I requested a refund Appsumos counter was to give me an additional month to download projects etc. absolutely ridiculous who needs a month to download projects?!?! No mention about compensation for the service itself. I will no longer purchase products from Appsumo because they are profiting from these companies along with the companies themselves who are taking the money and reinvesting it, by not defending the customers and allowing companies to default in this manner. It is fraud! You sold me a one year subscription for the fee of a lifetime contract then you Appsumo and your accomplice Fable kept the money you earned. Again it is fraud! Disgusting!!!

Unfortunately just under after now year of purchase it's going down and the money spent on this LTD is down the drain.

I am sslowly considering closing my Appsumo account. I am losing money on so-called LTDs that last less than a year. It's getting too risky purchasing from this platform.
