When comparing the answer to ChatGPT or Claude, I often felt like Frank fell short of these other servics, both in depth and quality of reply. Additionally, I got factually wrong information too many times, for basic information such as the name of a company who produces a specific piece of music gear. Big pieces of hardware, not microcomponents (which would have been understandable). Frank got lost in loops such as "so and so makes this interface". Knowing it's not, I asked "are you sure that's the company?" and received a "Sorry, I was wrong it's so and so that makes this interface" - putting another company name (always in the field, but who does not make this specific interface) and when challenged, Frank apologized and replace random company names for like 6/7 times. When it randomly got the right one, I asked it "are you 100% sure this is correct?" and it apologized and changed the name again with a wrong company. On the other hand, the same query on ChatGPT got it right the first time and when challenged it essentially told me "I'm right - it's clearly identifiable information". Very disappointed and requested a refund.

Love this app and consider it to be great value for money. Decision fatigue is a thing specially if you're a solopreneur juggling priorities. Yet you still have a life and sometimes you have to craft quick replies or get answers to questions. Frank is perfect for this. You can record a voice message prompt, it will craft a response and read it back. Ask it to translate and it will do it quickly and efficiently. The proof is always in the pudding and I'm using the app regularly and it's saving me valuable time. Thanks guys! Looking forwards to where the app development goes next!

I love the idea and the initial impression is really good, unfortunately it's all about what is not seen on the nice advert banners and there is just too much for me.

Couple of points:

1. First of all and I mean this is critical - there is no way to contact anyone, provide feedback and nobody seems to be interested in getting it. For me one of the key reasons to support those smaller products that appear on AppSumo is that we have often direct communication with the team creating product, can provide feedback and help to make it better. Here, we don't know who is behind "Frank AI" and creators have actively expressed they will not be transparent about it as well as there will be no platform to communicate (option to send an email is a joke). I respect that approach and that decision and strongly disagree.

2. It makes things up, even when asked about something it simply doesn't know because of 3 (below) it makes up the response and provides false data.

3. Frank's data is going back to Oct 2023 and no further, it also won't be able to fetch any real time data as it seems it has no access to the web. This is huge disadvantage.

4. Compared to free perplexity account it provides answers of less accuracy and usability (in my use case of course, but what else could I score?).

5. Android app sometimes work well, sometimes it has basic glitches that require restart. Not something I would expect from an app that has been around for over two years (and that is what creator has claimed in Q&A section on AppSumo).

All in all... I can't really justify paying for Frank AI even as LTD, it's better to simply use other free AI chats with better results. I will stick for a little longer before I will request refund but if nothing changes soon, there is no point sticking around.

I really wanted to use this product. The dev put in some thought into the UI/UX and features (custom keyboard, iOS widget, etc).

In the comments here on AppSumo, you can see certain promises were made (ie new models releasing by certain dates). Well, the platform has not changed at all since I started using it a month ago. Even simple things easily solvable via CSS tweaks such as the width of responses have not been touched despite multiple users asking for them here in the comments.

I've come across a number of bugs with the keyboard and mobile app too.

There's absolutely no info about the team on their website, no live chat, no email, not even a contact form. I managed to find an email based on their privacy policy, and when I reached out, I never heard back. Followed up too.

The actual performance of the model isn't very impressive. It's worse than other GPT-4 tools, even 4o mini outperforms Frank significantly. Free chatGPT performs about the same and is much faster.

I'll update my review if this changes dramatically, but otherwise, I plan on refunding within a week or two.

TL;DR this tool is quickly becoming outdated and doesn't perform as well as free alternatives.

Support was not answering. Product seems not to be as advertised. Compared to Chat-GPT it‘s less good in every point of use (Generating pictures, answers compared to original, etc.). Got my refund.
