Q: How does it handle conferences / board meetings when there are multiple people talking?

A: Hi V,
Yes, Hedy handles that. To separate the voices, switch the speech engine to Nemotron in Settings > Speech Recognition Options. It runs on-device (Apple Silicon Macs, recent iPhones and iPads, Windows and Android) and labels each speaker. On Apple devices the labels appear live; on Windows and Android they're added when the session ends. Whisper, the default engine, gives you one continuous transcript without speaker labels, so pick Nemotron for these meetings.

Hedy then tries to put names to the speakers. When someone introduces themselves or is addressed by name, it applies that name, and your calendar invite helps it match people. Anyone it can't identify stays numbered ("Speaker 2"), and you can tap their chip to name them. If it splits one person into two, you can merge them.

For a board room, put the device where it can hear all participants. Distant microphones and people talking over each other lower accuracy for any transcription tool, so a central spot helps. For a virtual conference on a Mac or Windows PC, Hedy captures both your mic and the call audio, so remote participants are included.
