Q: If someone bought and activated 1-2 codes during the previous (summer 2020) sale, is the white labeling functionality applied retroactively?

Or, will we be forced to purchase another code now to "add" the whitelabel? Or, do we need to contact IdeaNote support to add the whitelabel functionality at no extra charge?? Thanks.

A: Hi friend,

If you go to Settings on your workspace, you will find all the white-labeling options we currently offer no matter when you purchased your codes :)

Any new cool features we release for the Business Plan will also be included retroactively, so you have a bunch of cool things to look forward to.

I hope that helps!

Q: I notice we need to sign up using company's email.

I have purchased 3 codes -
1) 60 Team members - must it be the same company email or can it be a gmail/yahoo/hotmail account?
2) 3 Admin(s) - is it part of the 60 team members?
3) Guests - gmail/yahoo? or must also be their own company email?

Thanks.

Q: Hi Sumo-lings 👋 We are excited to bring back a unique deal for Black Friday 2020 🎉 ///////////// Ideanote is back!

The last time we talked, we promised we’d get you a Zapier integration.
Today we’re back with an all-new Black Friday deal and the launch of our official Zapier integration.
The best part? Zapier + a ton of other new Sumoling-requested features are all included in the LTD deal. No questions asked.
Our all-in-one innovation platform has never been more simple, fun, and efficient. And this deal has never been sweeter. Maybe bittersweet - because this might be our very last time on AppSumo.
So grab it while you can.

///////////// What’s new?
⚡ Zapier integration.
-You have spoken and we have listened. With the launch of the Ideanote Zapier integration, you can finally lean back and automate your innovation workflows.

🦜22+ new languages.
-Hello! Hej! Hola! Salut! Konnichiwa! Sometimes ideas are best expressed in your own language so we’ve expanded our support for some of the most requested languages.

🎯 14+ Features and Improvements
-The list goes on. We’ve made sure to prioritize a ton of other requested features like threaded comments, deleting users, inbuilt widget embed code generator, custom branded HTML Title and Favicon, rateable comments, hidden teams, improved email privacy, attachments in comments, more font styling options, a cleaner workspace settings menu, customizable SSO login buttons, in-mission insights, dropdowns as idea field, toggle visibility for idea field titles, completely customizable widget buttons, improved file upload performance. You could not have picked a better time.
Soon we’ll be launching advanced filtering, bulk actions, and a list view for ideas.

///////////// What’s up?
Since our first launch on AppSumo we’ve all seen that Innovation is more important than ever before. It’s the time for remote innovation. Sumolings from around the world have built amazing projects and are making a difference for their teams, their people, and their products. Every day.

A big thank you to this first generation of Sumolings for all your kind words, good ideas on our roadmap, and the journey we are on together.

We’re still selling Ideanote as Enterprise B2B software to large corporations around the world for a list price of $2899/month. No kidding. But our love is for ideas; for giving them a place to grow. For making them count. No matter how large or small your team is, how hard the crisis has hit, or if you are a leader or a follower, a veteran CIO or a first-time innovator: We’re in this together.

Let’s make even more ideas matter!

Q: Hi, I just picked up a few codes and would ideally like to use this as a roadmap that allows our visitors to also provide input.

Is it possible to allow visitors to contribute to the ideas or missions (on the front end) without logging in?

A: Hi Shane,

Thank you for your question!

Unfortunately, we're not quite there yet, but it's an awesome idea and something we've already discussed internally.

Although we can't commit to a date just yet, we want to allow anonymous/private interactions, including the option not to sign up.

I'm sorry I couldn't give you the answer you were hoping for but know that we definitely see the value in your use-case, so stay tuned.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

All the best,

Q: Hi Jakob, This is a steal for a best-in-class app in the idea management space!

Where can we find more info on the Zapier integration, like how many points of integration there will be? The beta isn't on Zapier site yet.

Also, any chance of a native integration with Nifty Project Management for idea execution?

Thanks,
Jeff

A: Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the kind words and the great question!

We are in the process of listing our Zapier integration on the marketplace, currently it's only available via this invite link https://zapier.com/developer/public-invite/114714/d9f74010f1cdb4be6cb427376a7a0510/

It support idea creation as a trigger but we will expand the functionality to cover other important triggers like ideas moving in a phase, comments and likes. Actions will be added too, so you'll be able to automate actions in Ideanote and save time that way.

Nifty PM offers a range of integrations with Zapier, so it's very plug and play:

Q: I thinking of purchasing 3 codes...

to use it in the future with different clients. 2 questions:

1) Can you clarify what it means my "team members"? If one client has let's say 100 employees, another has 500 employees and another has 1000 employees etc, would I need 1600 "team members"? Or would they be considered "guests"? And if guests, then would they create their individual username / password or would their feedback be anonymous?

2) How would I set it up so that all the clients would only view their ideas? Would I use "team folders" for this? Let's say I have 10 clients...and they all have 10 different areas of business (marketing, sales, customer service etc), how would I set this up so they each clients 10 departments are only visible to their employees and customers?

Hope this is making sense...

Thank you!

A: Thanks for asking some great questions.

1. Members and Guests are both viable options for the 1600 users.

Guests and Members can do many of the same things because their rights on your workspace depend mostly on the access you give them within the missions they are invited to.

Guests and Members are both registered with name and email.

The key difference between the two is that if you launch a mission that is open to everyone in your workspace, this will include Members, but not Guests.

Guests will never have access to a mission unless they have been specifically invited to it, whereas Members might, as is the case in the above example.

2. You've got it exactly right; you would use team folders. People can only see the missions they have been granted access to, so it's easy to segment clients on your workspace.

In your case, I would create a team folder for each client, and within each team folder, you create a mission for each department, e.g., Marketing, Sales, etc.!

That being said, it's also really nice to have a workspace for each client, so you can take advantage of, for example, custom branding, logos, colors, etc., and customize the experience for each client. In other words, it's worth considering if the extra expense (more workspaces) might be worth it in the long run.

Let me know if you have any other questions :)

All the best,
Morty

Q: Good day to you, was a previous buyer for ideanote a few months ago with 3 codes.

Currently looking to stack more but am not sure which is which.

1) Saw the link here: https://help.ideanote.io/article/xqg11k93e7-what-are-guests-and-members. Kinda confused with team members and team owners. Are they the same?

2) So for eg for 3 codes, there will be 60 team owners in this case? or 12 team owners (following the 12 team folders?

3) Does 1 team folders mean 1 new client? Will client A be able to see client B team folder? Thank you :)

A: Hi Blitz,

Thank you for your questions!

1. Team Owners and Members are not the same.

That being said, Ideanote is flexible and offers a lot of customization, so in theory, you might see some workspaces where Members have a lot of rights similar to those of a Team Owner, i.e., they can create missions, etc.!

In that sense, Team Owners and Members might have similar access rights, but they are different ranks and therefore segmented differently.

As the article says: a Team Owner can create missions and manage people.

Typically, normal Members would not be able to create missions or manage other people, which is the key difference.

2. If you get three codes, you will have 60 Members, all of which could be assigned Team Owner rights if you want their help managing a team.

Team Owner is a rank you can assign in the same vein as you assign Admin rank; they just have less power on your workspace than Admins.

3. You can give a client one folder or multiple folders. Personally, I think clients should have their own workspace so you can make the best use of white-labeling and custom branding functionality.

That being said, you can easily manage multiple team folders and multiple clients on the same workspace, and the team folders will not be visible to anyone who doesn't have access to the missions within them:

https://help.ideanote.io/article/9seb44a9z7-how-to-hide-a-team-folder

I hope that helps, but do let me know if you have additional questions :)

A: Hi mate,

Thank you for your question.

I'll repost a reply from further down:

As you move from Basic to Business to Enterprise analytics, we add extra tabs of stats for each jump.

On Basic, you have the Engagement tab that features various engagement stats from users on your workspace, for example, how many of your members have added ideas, have commented, etc.

With Business, you unlock the Impact tab, which helps you visualize your successes, such as what type of ideas are being implemented, who's adding the most actionable ideas, and so on.

Once you hit Enterprise, it's a full house; you get Impact, Engagement, Hall of Fame, and Trends. This last one is particularly awesome as it helps you identify trends across all of your ideas, along with the option to cluster ideas together if they're similar or in other ways relevant to each other.

I hope that helps :)

A: Hi friend,

Glad to have you with us!

Yes, many people are using Ideanote to collect and share ideas on, for example, a product roadmap.

Setting this up is as simple as creating any other idea-collection and can be done in just a few clicks.

If you'd like a better sense of the tool, I recommend watching our quick product demo or creating your own trial workspace at start.ideanote.io.

A: Hi Ken,

Thanks for stopping by and asking a question :)

Unfortunately, you will have to create separate workspaces for each CNAME as we don't have plans to let people create one for each team folder.

Luckily, we're working on making it even easier to manage multiple workspaces at the same time. Although I can't reveal too much at this stage, we have plans to add an executive layer to allow workspace management to be much smoother than it is right now.

I'm sorry I couldn't give you the answer you were looking for, but let me know if there's anything else I can do for you!

Because Ideanote is a progressive web app, you can save it to your home screen directly from your mobile browser and get the full mobile app experience. It's pretty neat so I highly recommend checking it out :)

A: Thank you for your question.

Although it is easy to create multiple folders and missions on a single account, I wouldn't recommend managing ideas privately and with clients on the same workspace, so you're likely looking at two codes (one for each workspace).

You can use the same email to create both workspaces, but they would exist separately and would each have their own unique domain, e.g. work.ideanote.io and family.ideanote.io.

If you're interested, we have a short 9-minute product walkthrough that will give you a better sense of Ideanote than I ever could :)

Q: The previous deal in Summer 2020 left me disappointed with how IdeaNote was throwing around our user information.

I was getting emails from G2Crowd, which I had never been a member of, asking me to leave reviews for IdeaNote. They were using the email addresses that I had used nowhere else but when creating ideanote accounts. Even Appsumo did not know those email addresses.

Would it not be the decent thing for IdeaNote to ASK us to Opt-In, before automatically passing on our information to G2Crowd? This feedback also applies to Appsumo- how do you vet vendors for their committment to users' emails/privacy?
Thanks.

However, you have likely received an email from us in which we request a review on the G2 website. Might this be the email you are referring to?

Q: From your recent instructions pages: How to Share a Mission Jakob Storjohann Updated 27 minutes ago by Jakob ...

Storjohann

Find and click the mission you want to share
Click the Share button in the top right-hand corner
Add existing members to the mission audience
Set access for each member or team
Optional: Add a shareable link to invite Guests to join the mission

HOW MIGHT YOU make things so that the Guest arriving through that "shareable link" can comment on ideas, post new ideas and rate existing ideas **without being forced to create a password**? I totally support that the guest provide an email address (for identification of each unique guest arriving via link) , but I think being asked to create a password is a big turn off to the casual visitor "Guest". Thanks.

At this time, it's not possible to submit ideas without adding an email and a password. This is, however, something we are working on as we want to allow for submissions without signing up and completely anonymous submissions.

This functionality is still work-in-progress so it's too early for us to commit to a release date just yet.

Q: product is good but 200 idea limit for 1 code is really turn off.

atleast let people buy the deal first with one code for main feature ie ideas and if they have larger team they can buy more codes but why so much restriction in place for many solopreneur like me who does not have big team . atleast give unlimited ideas for one code and you can restrict the deal in other features and people with more team will be always buying more code for their team.

A: Hi friend,

Thanks for being here :)

Unfortunately, we can't make everyone happy, but we have certainly done our best, and we believe the offerings are really well-stacked and offer great value at their price.

200 ideas should be more than enough for most people to get started, but if the unlimited ideas are a must-have then the 2-stack offer is great value as not even our most popular Business Plan ($649/mo) has unlimited ideas.

If you have any further questions, let me know :)
