A Friendly Upgrade for Gemini Notebook 🚀

Kortex makes it much easier to keep your AI chats, research, and social media content organized in one place.

It turns Gemini Notebook into a searchable workspace where you can save ideas, revisit useful sources, and connect information across different projects. 🧠

What I like *

1. Saves chats, sources, and insights with just a click ✨
2. Keeps everything organized with folders and tags 🗂️
3. Lets you highlight, edit, annotate, and build on your sources ✍️
4. Makes it easy to search across notebooks and projects 🔍
5. Includes handy tools like bulk imports, Google Docs sync, and source management ⚡
6. The prompt library is great for saving and reusing favorite prompts 💡
7. Pro adds cloud sync, automations, podcast feeds, and more ☁️🎧

A few things to note *

- It may take a little time to explore everything Kortex offers
- Podcast audio comes with a usage limit 🎙️

Overall, I’m happy with Kortex 😊 It saves me from constantly copying and organizing information manually, and it makes research workflow feel much smoother.

If you use Gemini Notebook often, Kortex is a friendly and useful upgrade! 🌟

Slows down my gmail and no customer support

I really want to like this product and I've compared it against a few other Chrome extensions that does the same. The problem is I noticed that this slows down my Gmail. When I navigate around my gmail (opening inbox, navigating tabs, switching to new email), it takes a few more seconds than usual. I disabled my extensions and realized that this one is causing the issue. So unfortunately I can't use this product :(

I also email support and followed up but never heard back from him. And based on other reviews, it seems support is not very strong. I'm guessing it's one person doing all of this and he's overwhelmed by everything.

Tier‑3 license shows as “already used” no support response at all

I bought a Tier‑3 Kortex Gemini Notebook (formerly NotebookLM) deal a couple days ago. Right after purchase, the extension tells me that my license is already linked to another account.

I then contacted support via the website’s support form and also sent a direct support email (both routes seem to go to the same address). So far, zero response: no ticket confirmation, no reply, nothing. That’s a first for me on AppSumo and a very disappointing experience.

Until the license issue is resolved and someone from the team actually replies, I can’t use the product at all. The idea behind Kortex is nice, but right now it feels like paying for something you can’t access, with no support in sight.

A practical and very useful tool for teaching and academic research

As a lecturer and someone interested in education and academic research, I have found Kortex to be a practical and very useful tool for organizing both teaching and research work. I use it to collect important conversations from AI tools, save articles, webpages, and sources related to a specific topic, and then organize everything inside NotebookLM in a clearer and more manageable way.

I find this especially useful when preparing lectures, reviewing sources, or creating educational materials for students. Instead of having ideas scattered across the browser, AI conversations, and different files, I can bring them together in one place and return to them whenever needed. The option to export sources and notes in different formats is also helpful for keeping academic materials and preparing summaries, study guides, and learning activities.

One aspect I particularly appreciate is that Kortex is not limited to saving notes. It helps create a more organized workflow around NotebookLM. I believe it can be useful for teachers and researchers who work with a large number of sources or use several languages, such as Arabic, German, and English.

That said, I have a few suggestions that could make the tool even stronger for academic use. More specialized research features would be valuable, such as comparing studies, extracting key ideas, and organizing literature reviews. Shared workspaces, comments, and version tracking would also be very useful for researchers working in teams.

I also like the feature that saves webpages as PDF, but I would appreciate an additional option to save pages in HTML format. This could preserve a version that is closer to the original appearance of an article or source.

Overall, I see Kortex as a promising and useful tool for teachers, lecturers, and researchers. It reduces the time spent copying and organizing information and provides a practical way to collect knowledge and turn it into material that can be used for teaching and research. I would recommend it especially to anyone who uses NotebookLM regularly and wants to manage academic sources and AI conversations more effectively.

Two calls, Kortex no showed on both...

After activation you are offered an intro call which I booked. So here my email to them last Thursday - no response received.

"So not turning up for one call (Tuesday) is one thing but blowing me out on two calls (just now, Thursday) really is inexcusable. Seriously?"

Have really lost interest in them and their product...
