Q: Phone Call Recording
I believe this can transcribe interviews with multiple people.
Can I record phone calls on my iPhone?
I like to interview people and would like to be able to have these phone calls recorded and transcribed. Is that possible or do they need to be in the same room as my phone and recorded via the local microphone?

Recording phone calls directly on the same iPhone is restricted at the operating system level by the device manufacturers due to privacy considerations, so Letterly cannot record both sides of a phone call from the same device.
However, you can still record and transcribe phone interviews by putting the call on speakerphone and using another device running Letterly to capture the conversation.
If you're conducting interviews regularly, this setup tends to work well and allows you to generate transcripts of conversations involving multiple participants.
On Android, If I try to record my side of the conversation it results in gibberish. Once it was in Chinese, ha! Some states and provinces do not allow recording phone calls, so i think it is a blanket phone based policy, rather than a limitation on Letterly.
Yes, that's correct. Thank you. This is an operating system restriction implemented for privacy reasons, and unfortunately it's not something Letterly, or any other application, can bypass.
