I’ve been using Letterly almost every day for nearly a year now, mainly on iOS.
What for? Quite simply—to record and preserve the bedtime stories I tell my kids.

With just a single prompt, a 15-minute spoken story is beautifully transformed into a well-written, faithful version of the original. I’ve even grabbed multiple codes to cover all my devices.

I’m giving it four tacos only because the Android and Windows versions are still catching up with iOS, which I totally understand can be frustrating for some users.

That said, Letterly already offers powerful and thoughtful features. I use them to export those same stories into another app I built, so my children can read the tales we’ve created together. Over time, Letterly has become a precious memory vault between my kids and me.

I really wanted to love Letterly - the concept is great, and the transcription quality is solid. But the way this app is being developed is beyond disappointing.

The team informed that the ability to add new recordings to existing notes would arrive around August–September 2025. It’s now November 2025, and that feature still doesn’t exist. The Android app hasn’t received a single meaningful update since June 30, 2025, while iOS and macOS users keep getting new toys and improvements.

It’s frustrating to see how blatantly they prioritize Apple platforms while completely neglecting Android and Windows users.

Essential features like adding audio to existing notes or merging notes have been “coming soon” for months - and nothing happens.

At this point, the development speed is glacial and communication feels vague.

Letterly could be an amazing cross-platform tool, but right now it’s a half-finished app that clearly favors one ecosystem.

If you’re on Android or Windows - don’t waste your time or money.

This is really let down by the fact that so many features are on or planned for Mac and iOS, but not on Windows and Android. There is a clear lack of caring about bringing those features to Windows and Android. It's a shame that Windows and Android users are treated like second-class citizens.

Things like: file upload, playing the audio of a voice note from within the note, adding new voice notes to an existing note (not out yet, but they are prioritising iOS and Mac), multi-select and tag notes, auto-copy text to clipboard, keybinding for dictation starting. - All of these are available (or planned) on Mac and iOS, but not Android or Windows.

I like it. Here price is the best of the best. It works well. I'm satisfied.

If you value time, simplicity, and real results, get Letterly. It’s earned five tacos and a permanent place in my daily process!

Verdict: Letterly is the easiest, smartest way to turn spoken ideas into professional text. Skip the hype and hardware — this is what modern note taking should feel like!
