Review update:

I’ve increased my rating to 5 stars based on the current offer and the team’s response. This review is for the new Tier 5 deal, not the original unlimited-records deal, which was clearly better value for buyers but likely unsustainable for the company.

The new paid records add-on makes scaling a single database beyond the included 250k records much more affordable. I had hoped Tier 5 would include a 500k baseline as standard, so this does not fully answer my original concern. However, it does address a significant part of the issue and makes scaling an app more practical.

One final thought: I still believe 500k per database would be a fairer baseline, especially given the previous unlimited deal, while keeping paid add-ons for higher usage. Even with the recent improvements, new buyers should compare the current limits carefully against the older reviews, as many of those clearly relate to the unlimited offer.

Even with the add-on now increased to 500k, I still feel a 500k baseline for each database — rather than a 250k included limit with paid expansion — would have made this return to AppSumo considerably more compelling. I hope the team will consider this if they return with a future deal.

I appreciate Riya and the team listening and responding, and I understand their focus on building a sustainable business. New buyers should still be clear that the base Tier 5 limit is 250k records per database, with higher capacity available as a paid add-on rather than included.

Tier 5 buyer here. The product has potential, but the current record limits are the main blocker for me. At this tier, 500k+ records, or a reasonably priced records add-on, would make it much easier to justify and scale. As it stands, scaling could become expensive quickly, and I’m not yet sure I’ll keep it beyond the 60-day refund period. I understand this is a new offer and not the previous unlimited deal, but new buyers should note that many existing 5-star reviews appear to relate to that older offer rather than the current limits. With the refund window approaching, I hope the team can clarify whether higher limits or add-ons are planned.

I wanted to come back and update my review because NoCodeBackend has directly addressed the biggest concern I originally raised.

First, I want to be clear that the record limits were disclosed on the AppSumo deal page when I purchased. Each tier clearly states how many records are included per database, so my concern was never that the limit itself was hidden.

My concern was what happened after you reached that limit.

Previously, additional capacity was $29 per 5,000 records. That meant adding another 250,000 records would have cost $1,450, and taking a Tier 5 database from its included 250K records to 1 million records would have cost $4,350.

For a growing application, I felt that created a pretty painful scaling path.

NoCodeBackend listened to that feedback and has now introduced a new add-on offering 250,000 additional records for $199. That reduces the cost of adding 250K records from $1,450 to $199, an 86% reduction.

Under the new pricing, taking a Tier 5 database from 250K records to 1 million would cost $597 in additional lifetime capacity instead of $4,350.

That is a massive improvement and directly addresses my biggest criticism.

I also want to give NoCodeBackend credit for the product itself. We've actually been using it, not just looking at the feature list, and so far it has been working well. Being able to quickly create and work with databases and backend functionality without having to build and maintain all of that infrastructure yourself is genuinely useful.

The higher tiers also provide a substantial amount of capacity for developers building multiple applications. Each database gets its own record allowance rather than the record limit being shared across the entire account, which is an important distinction.

I also respect how the team responded to the criticism. They could have simply pointed to the disclosed limits and left the pricing as it was. Instead, they listened to feedback and made a meaningful change to the economics of scaling.

I understand their explanation regarding sustainability as well. Database infrastructure has ongoing costs for storage, backups, compute, maintenance, and other resources. A lifetime deal providing unlimited database growth forever for a single payment may not be realistic or sustainable.

My concern was never that they had to provide unlimited infrastructure forever. I wanted to see a reasonable path for an application that grows beyond its included capacity.

At $199 per additional 250K records, I think that path is substantially more reasonable now.

There is still a finite record allowance per database, and developers building extremely data-heavy applications should understand that and plan accordingly. But the limits are disclosed upfront, the new scaling option is dramatically better, and my actual experience using the product so far has been positive.

Most importantly, seeing a company listen to customer feedback and make a substantial improvement this quickly gives me more confidence in the team behind the product.

Credit where it's due: they listened, they made a meaningful change, and the deal is considerably stronger because of it.

by far one of the best deals on appsumo to date. I have used it to replace Supabase and have found a lot of value by being able to implement the database in the various apps I am using.

I’ve been using NoCodeBackend for my projects and have been really impressed with how much the platform has evolved. What initially attracted me was how quickly I could turn a database into a usable API without having to set up and maintain a backend myself.

Over time, they’ve added a lot more than just database APIs — authentication, RLS, webhooks, database cloning and snapshots, Supabase migration, and even MCP support for AI coding tools. The MCP integration in particular is a really interesting addition if you’re using tools like Cursor or Claude Code.

The interface is straightforward, the APIs are generated automatically, and the team seems genuinely responsive to feedback. It feels like a product that is being actively developed rather than something that was launched and left alone.

There are still areas where the platform can improve, but overall I’ve had a very positive experience and think NoCodeBackend is especially compelling for developers who want to get a production backend running quickly without managing infrastructure themselves.

Definitely worth checking out, especially if you’re building with AI/no-code tools.

The recent record limit per database for NoCodeBackend is considered insufficient for SaaS applications, making the platform unviable.

Furthermore, these recent critical modifications directly contradict the original terms and conditions of the AppSumo lifetime deal (LTD).

It would have been much more appropriate to grandfather existing AppSumo users under the exact original conditions of their plans, and instead launch a new LTD campaign with the updated terms for new customers only.

I was actually planning to upgrade to support NCBE's growth, but this decision is a major disappointment and leaves me unable to recommend the platform to anyone else.

I am thrilled to completely revise my previous 1-star review and upgrade it to a well-deserved 5 stars.

Following my initial feedback regarding the database record limits, the NoCodeBackend team reached out to clarify that they are fully grandfathering early adopters.

For AppSumo users, the unlimited record limits will remain active. Although the UI for my Tier 3 plan still displays the limit, I verified that no limits are actually applied when creating a new database.

The team was incredibly fast, responsive, and helpful in addressing my concerns and clearing up any doubts immediately. This quick and fair resolution shows that they truly value their community.
