Q: SCORM File and Import for LMS

Hi there,

i have a specific question about SCORM export.

Is the course material hosted on your Server or is it full exported as a SCORM Package with all local assets to be able to import it for example in SAP and the SuccessFactors Learning? This includes embedding all external resources in the SCORM package or replacing them with local content.

Many of this LMS Soultions are not full "safe" Scorm files for bigger LMS.
Usually the content is loaded at runtime via an iframe from other servers, this package is then not a standalone SCORM asset. As a result, it cannot be used in LMS environments with strict security policies that block external resources.

Without access to those external files, the package appears empty and is therefore unusable for bigger LMS.

How exactly do you create the SCORM files?

A: Hello
The SCORM files are the complete files - there is not file references back to our servers etc.

You will have no problem running them in Success Factors or any other LMS as SCORM v1.2 or v2004.

We have over 21 years of experience in importing SCORM into LMS. SCORM files are created by zipping all contents into a single file with a menifest to reference all resources. Again all standard...

Q: How flexible is the '15-topic' limit in accommodating detailed content?

Can multiple topics be combined to create longer modules?

Is there an option to link multiple courses for extended learning paths?

What does a 'section expansion' entail in course creation?

Are there tools to assist in expanding content within a topic?

A: Hello

Many thanks for your question. You can use the editor to add any content within a topic. You can also add buttons to create and extend learning paths.

Section (same as topic) expansions are now handled automatically by the AI but you can add any content yourself.

The best thing is to try it yourself. The editor has been in development since 2007 and is the most advanced browser...

Q: Please clarify what the 15 topics included in the tiers cover

Do they refer to lessons or modules? I am confused.

Q: Tier 2 distribution

Hello,

I have been testing eLMS and found great. I still don't have a clear picture between T2 and T3 distribution limits.

I want to use eLMS for personal use at home for my kids –homeschoolers, and a small community of children that could benefit from your development. I would like to publish the lessons produced on my WordPress website for public access.

Also, the feature to download the SCORM file, and for editing in Captivate is a dream come true for me, but I am unsure if that feature will be available at Tier 2 level. Exporting to another LMS or editing software is limited in Tier 2?

I am not planning to develop courses for third parties, but I would like to have editing and exporting features available. Please can you list the differences in exporting, editing, and distribution between plans?

A: Hello

Many thanks for your question. You can edit any course in T2 and T3 - Open elMS AI has its own editor - in development since 2007 - you will not need Captivate any more. This is available on all Tiers. All eLearning can be exported as SCORM files, compatable with any Learning Management System.

If you want to publically publish eLearning material then you will need Tier 3 for 'no...
