🚨 RanksPro.io Just Pulled a Straight-Up Rug Pull 🚨

RanksPro has turned into one of the most disappointing examples of how a company can mishandle early supporters—especially those who purchased through lifetime deals.

I originally invested in the top-tier lifetime offer expecting long-term access to the platform’s features. Instead, what followed feels like a textbook bait-and-switch.

🚨 What Happened

After onboarding users through a lifetime deal (LTD), RanksPro:

Removed or restricted access to core features that users already paid for
Locked LTD users out of functionality entirely
Continued operating the platform—but only for new paying subscribers
Shifted to high monthly pricing (reportedly up to hundreds per month)
āŒ The Core Problem

This isn’t a case of a company shutting down entirely—that would at least be understandable.

The issue is:

The product is still live and being sold… just not to the people who funded its early growth.

That’s where it crosses from ā€œbusiness failureā€ into serious ethical concerns.

šŸ’¬ Communication Breakdown

One of the biggest failures here is communication:

No meaningful warning before access was restricted
No transition plan for LTD users
No real support or accountability afterward

Instead, users were given a discount code to continue paying monthly for something they already bought.

āš ļø Why This Matters

Lifetime deal buyers take a risk—but there’s an unspoken agreement:

If the company succeeds, early supporters aren’t abandoned.

RanksPro appears to have used LTD buyers to:

Fund development
Test and refine the platform
Build initial traction

…and then cut them off once recurring revenue became the focus.

🧠 Final Thoughts

This situation sends a clear message—not just about RanksPro, but about trust in LTD ecosystems overall.

If a company:

Continues operating
Continues selling the same product
But removes access from paid lifetime users

That’s not just disappointing—it undermines confidence in the entire model.

⭐ Verdict

Extremely poor handling of early users.
Not recommended based on trust, reliability, or long-term value.

SCAM - This is the type of Deal that will be the end of AppSumo - Bait and Switch - Rug Pull - Complete Failure to Deliver a product

This is the type of deal that gives Appsumo a bad name. Everyone understands there is a risk with buying deals. However it is assumed or implied that if a software is successful that you will have access to the software in some capacity. This software has completely eliminated and blocked out all users that paid for a lifetime deal. They are Selling the same service for $300 a month. There was ZERO communication. All your work, data, records and time spent to build out clients or personal projects data in these services was used to build and refine their product. They then blocked out all users and are charging more than SEMrush or Ahrefs for an inferior product. There is no support from this team. RanksPro completely used Appsumo to launch a product and crowd fund a product that they then decided to convert and completely eliminate access to all accounts for anyone that paid for this product.

TOTAL SCAM!

Less than 6 months after buying the company slams doors on the LTD users and says they cant afford to keep deal going even though the site is up and fully functional. Company is a scam, sale was a scam, and nothing is being done about it.

Worst deal yet...

I had a bad feeling about Alekh when chatting with him at the start - he felt like a scammer... and here we are... The tool is still operating but Appsumo buyers' money was just pocketed and now they've been shut out. If a business fails completely it is one thing, but to continue operating and shut out users who paid money for this is beyond unethical.

Upon purchasing this tool, I spent some time exploring its core functionalities. While it appeared operational, the overall experience left me with a strong impression that the product might not be a long-term, reliable solution. It felt underdeveloped, and I questioned the value proposition for the investment of my time. This initial hands-on assessment led me to hold back on fully integrating it into my workflow, sensing it was potentially a quick cash-grab rather than a robust offering for Appsumo users.

Unfortunately, my early reservations have now been fully validated. It's deeply concerning to see that Appsumo buyers, who invested in this tool, are now being locked out while the product continues to operate for regular users. This action, following what felt like a questionable initial offering, is not just disappointing but simply unethical.

This experience has been a stark reminder to trust my gut feelings during initial product evaluations. Buyers on Appsumo deserve transparency and a fair return on their investment. This deal, and the subsequent actions, utterly failed to deliver on that front.

Shame on you, Alekh.
