I encountered "Upgrade your plan to access this feature" blocking core functionality.

Today, I went to use Rankspro. Like others stated, Appsumo customers are no longer able to use our purchases. I understand that this happens. Normally, it happens and the door shuts. This time, the door is still open. They continue to take new money from month-to-month clients. I refuse to pay more money to a company that just burned me. Full me once, shame on you, full me twice, shame on me.

I can see going out of business. It happens, I have lost out on many products on Appsumo, this one is different. With this company my choice is to pay more or lose all tool access. Nothing works, I understand how expensive AI can get. But nothing, nothing works on my highest tier purchase, not even the simplest and cheapest of task. Pay or go away are my only options. I will go away, but not without leaving a review to possibly help others as I exit.

I received an email that explained RanksPro difficulties, It said "Rank Tracking for AppSumo LTD accounts is temporarily paused.
All other features - Keyword Research, Backlink Analysis, Domain Overview, AI tools, and more - remain fully active."

If Ranktracking was the only thing paused, I could see it and totally understand. But nothing is working. Nothing, I hope at least they used my money to buy something useful.

I looked up the owners name on Appsumo sales page. The owner is listed as A_RanksPro? Who is that? Appsumo at least owes us a name. I went to a prior email, it was signed: Alekh V. - Founder. I never want to support this individal again.

Companies should support early buyers until the end. Not use us as a stepping ground to pay the bills and then discard us completely while asking us to pay more money to get access to the product we already paid for. Alekh V, I will never support your future endeavors again.

Your goal should be to do everything possible to keep current customers happy. Client acquisition is 5-7 times more expensive than retention. Now you have me and a boat load of purchasers under my review who will never say anything positive about your product. I really was excited to use RanksPro. The way you handled this is unacceptable. Why not have a BYOK option or limits or... something besides, telling us to get back in line and repurchase. MAJOR FAIL!!!

If I could give zero stars, I would. What RanksPro has done is a textbook example of a malicious bait-and-switch.

Like many early adopters, I backed them by purchasing their Lifetime Deal (LTD) on AppSumo to help fund their growth. In return, they waited precisely until the 60-day refund window closed to pull the rug out from under their investors. They abruptly stripped away the actual core functionality of the tool—rank tracking—and are now holding our accounts hostage, trying to force us onto monthly paid plans. Citing "financial challenges" after running a self-listed campaign to extract capital from the LTD community is a pathetic excuse for unethical business practices.

To make matters infinitely worse, they actively upsold a premium White-label add-on to users, fully knowing they were going to dishonor the core LTD shortly after. Selling an expensive agency feature to users while secretly planning to nuke the foundational accounts that the feature relies on is greedy, deceitful, and borders on outright fraud.

Do not give these founders a single cent. A company that operates with zero integrity and treats its early backers as disposable cash cows cannot be trusted with your business, your client data, or your monthly subscription. If they are willing to scam the people who funded them, they will not hesitate to screw over their recurring users down the line. Avoid RanksPro at all costs.

RanksPro has now locked out LTD buyers from core functionality and is forcing us to subscribe and pay for add-ons to use them again.

Instead of honoring their original commitments and, for example, introducing reasonable new usage caps (which many LTD buyers would understand), they chose the most hostile path possible: completely shutting down key features for LTD users while continuing to build out and sell new subscription‑only features. In practice, this means the “lifetime deal” is now a useless login screen unless you agree to start paying them again, which feels like a classic bait‑and‑switch.

One of the first tools on here where I decided to pay for one of the top tiers and WOW what a regret that is...

$276 down the drain. The tool doesn't work, you can't use any of the features on there anymore. What did we pay for? I'm honestly struggling to answer that...

I have no idea how this is allowed, but they've well and truly done a runner with people's money.

I don't think this plays out well for Appsumo.

Really disappointed.
