Q: GDPR Compliance & EU Data Residency - French Law Firm Inquiry

Dear Snoooz Team,

Fieloux Avocats, a French law firm, is evaluating Snoooz for attorney-client communications.

Before purchasing, we need GDPR compliance confirmation:

**1. Server Location**
EU or USA?

**2. EU Data Residency**
Do you offer EU-only residency for all data (including metadata)?

**3. Data Processing Agreement**
Can you provide a GDPR Article 28 compliant DPA?

**4. International Transfers**
If data leaves the EU, do you use Standard Contractual Clauses?

We see Snoooz is GDPR/SOC 2 certified. However, attorney-client privilege requires explicit confirmation that data remains in the EU. Please, can you confirm?

Thank you.

Best regards,

A: Thank you for your message and for considering Snoooz for your attorney-client communications.

Let me answer your questions:

1. Server Location:
Snoooz is currently hosted on Google Cloud, with servers located in the United States.

2. EU Data Residency:
At this time, our architecture does not support EU-only data residency for all data (including metadata). We are, however, open to review this with our product team to assess the feasibility of offering this option in the future.
Could you please confirm whether EU-only data residency is a strict requirement for your evaluation?

3. Data Processing Agreement (DPA):
Yes, we can provide a copy of DPA, along with a copy of our SOC 2 report upon request. Please email us at [email protected]

4. International Transfers:
When data is transferred outside the EU, we rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) to ensure adequate protection in compliance with GDPR.

Please let me know if this is helpful, or if you have more questions.

Victoria

Yes, EU-only data residency is a strict requirement for law firms and businesses with sensitive email communications. Since Snoooz accesses email accounts for AI features, it processes confidential data that must remain within EU jurisdiction.

+1 always the same....EU has so many data protection requirements. Most deals can't be used without getting into trouble ;(
