Q: In the deal description it says "GDPR compliant", but I don't see any mentioning of GDPR on your website.
In order to use your tool on customer data or any other data covered by GDPR, it's extremely important that we can prove to the authorities that you do in fact live up to all requirements.
Have you applied to the new Data Privacy Framework Program (https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/s/)?
A: Hey Drmoyassine I have never viewed a visa application but ill assume its a complicated form?
Theres a solution here but there may be a 3rd party that would need to get involved as we are not in the world of image extraction.
I am happy to research if there are packages we can use to support this if we can put this in the roadmap.
I have a couple ideas with the current capabilities but it would be a more technical solution than I'd like to provide users. We would definitely want to be on a webhook plan as communicating back and forth here is going to require some 3rd party api calls.
I too would love Linux. I have a PC laptop and an Apple laptop, but my work is all done on a Linux desktop. What is the minimum it needs for a PC? I have some older VM's that I might be able to run it on.
JDHunter, I have not tested the minimum requirements or when performance would be severely affected as I have been able to run automations from a windows PC. That PC MIGHT have like 2gb ram.
If you’re low on memory and it’s a PC that’s just hanging out I would suggest maximizing memory by using a swap file.
Q: Saw in the promo video on your website the schedule option runs in the cloud, is this included in the LTD?
Q: I can't stress enough that you really should get a marketing guy.
You say (intro above) "I've built 3 six-figure and 1 seven-figure no-code tech companies from nothing, as a solo founder who CANNOT code. I've done all this utilizing different forms of automations and no-code tools."
I understand: a) Maker who seeks for MAU to EXIT OR b) to dump the future development OR c) might rebrand after PMF is done (or a decent USP arises based on early adopter feedback) to target option a) again
Again, not approaching you personally just sharing that writing some words and telling a story is not necessarily result in the same interpretation of the same.
A: haha maybe youre right. I need ALOT of people. I love this advice, though. And ill take it. Follow-up question to you: why do you think i seek to exit? Or why do you think i want to dump development?
A: hey there - thanks! yes we only have two add-ons. The first is the webhooks/zapier native connection which is $19/mo. This allows you to send your data or whatever you capture in the recording to go to other sources.
The second add-on is called "remote buttons," this is $29/mo, where you can trigger your automations to run from anywhere. It's our version of cloud runs.
We integrate natively with google sheets - if that isn't enough to move data in and out you also have the custom code step that can send api requests allowing you to connect wherever you'd like
Q: Does enabling webhooks have a resource cost to you or could we also ask for webhooks at a ltd addon price rather than sub.
Would love to automate parts of things pabbly doesn’t do with this but 240 a year is more than it’s worth I’m afraid
A: thanks Jack!! Appreciate the feedback on the price of the zapier/webhook add-on. There is a cost for us, yes. you DO have google sheets IN and OUT which allows you to connect how you want though. Ill help you when you're in and show you how to achieve the same result
Hey Babbly, you shouldn't have any issue sending the data with custom code. Let me know if you need help setting this up - Im not familiar with the service you're connecting to but I'm happy to check it out
Q: Hello!
Task Magic looks great, thanks for bringing it to AppSumo. I have one major issue with the deal and hoping you might consider modifying it. Your platform is an automation platform (as you know) and practically all of us Sumolings are looking for for ways to connect the 100s of tools we've purchased over the years together. And of the course the most seamless way of doing so is via Webhooks. I understand that you offer Webhooks at a monthly subscription, but it seems like a bit much to ask for on top of the Premium (by AppSumo standards) price of $249. I agree with the other Sumoling who mentioned that Tiers 1 and 2 sound like a no-go given the limitations of custom steps. Would you consider adding Webhooks to this deal? Or making it available for lifetime for an additional one time amount? I would purchase in a second if so. Right now I just have too many tools that are stand alone and disconnected, and I don't want o add another (or have to use google sheets as a work around.)
A: you don't actually NEED webhooks to connect to other things - you can do it inside the recording OR via google sheets in or out. You can connect your google sheets to zapier, make, pabbly, or a webhook. It's just a way to connect the recording you make to other things outside of TM. As we allow unlimited automations, unlimited workspaces, unlimited runs, we only have 2 add-ons. I hope that makes sense. We didn't want to put so many limits on the sumo-lings ;)
So what you mean is there are ways to work around the lack of a webhook in the way Taskmagic works. Can you be a bit more specific with an example of how this may be done to help us wrap our minds around it? Thank you!
A: Hey Sumoling8486 - apologies for the delay getting back to you here
You will not face any limitations in the amount of steps you can record in your automation. Let me know if you have a specific example of an automation you want to build so I can give you a better answer on the perfect tier for you
A: great question!!! And sorry for the lag - the headers just need to exist. I added this as a callout to the doc here: https://help.taskmagic.com/help-center/s5FiF82Lv6xeJADe7k8pss/exporting-data-to-google-sheets/w6Ci6z9VMcx2aQ7Rq4WHna
Thanks tom - here is an article: let me know if this helps we added a callout for headers (they only need to EXIST, they dont need to be specific) https://help.taskmagic.com/help-center/s5FiF82Lv6xeJADe7k8pss/exporting-data-to-google-sheets/w6Ci6z9VMcx2aQ7Rq4WHna
Correct - headers are there when fetching data from a sheet allowing you to use that in your automation. Here is an example of how I set up automated instagram dms.
I have a google sheet with a column of usernames, the header being `username`
go to instagram -> login -> go to message page -> type @username -> click message -> click send
This allows my automation to send any number of messages I specify everytime it runs.
Hope this clears up how headers benefit your automation and where you use them - lmk if theres anything else I can help answer here
Q: Hi there,
I have a website that I want to log in and run a report on.
The problem is that I have Multifactor Authentication enabled (using Microsoft's Authenticator.) I think I know the answer to this, but is there a way to work with this setup? What is the recommended way to handle this? Thanks!
A: This question is AMAZING!! And i love you know where your going. It’s going to depend on the scenario: if the log in can be bypassed with existing cookies then fantastic, if not we can get creative to make it happen. BUT it is possible. I dont see why it wouldn’t be possible. The more complicated of a login process the more creative/non-traditional the automation must be. you can hire an Uber black, but they may not have a Sun pass for toll roads, kinda thing ya know?
Q: Congratulations on the Launch
#1 Can you please add the ability to open up a preferred browser instead of ...

Q: Hi guys, mind helping me (us) getting a better idea of your status quo and business related roadmap (w/o buzzword bingo)?
1) Since you are entering a HIGHLY saturated market, I'd be keen to see a comparison to https://www.automa.site
2) I haven't read through every detail by now but what came up as a deal breaker for 99% of people who want to automate things is actually the 'last mile' where you cut it off: Webhooks & API.
While the desktop software / automation piece is kinda 'one-off' and stuff you'd create & share either way, sure, its the API/Webhooks that generate ongoing costs on your end - but whats the deal for me if I still end up with a lose ends that I manually need to connect? Your deal, in the best case, let me safe time to do more but the more I do the more I need to invest time to actually make use of the results. Makes NO sense guys.
If I then look at your price comparison (LTD Deal + bogus online pricing) my alarm bells are ringing since its yelling at me 'they want to get out, sell the work they did or if not now, are not likely to maintain this as core business since they even got no clue yet about the market they are challenging".
I am writing this not to de-motivate you but to make sure you got understand that your audience is not a bunch of pupils but people making business - we seek solutions or, at the very least, potential solution where it is clear that we got a MVP presented and makers seek PMF in return of an early adopter LTD.
In all honesty, you'd be advised taking the deal down, re-focus (status, priorities, ...), fix the bugs, bring some real life templates that deliver value out of the box (templates = faster adoption = better CX = less churn), fix your presentation (ditch that pricing online if you want people even to take you serious), make a plan of what you offer and calculate the LTD properly and then get back (ideally get someone who has some experience in marketing as well)
A: Maybe ill add a comparison to automa on the site some time soon. But overall, if a site says "github" its not for non technical users and our users a non technical.
We added a tier for webooks and API ;) its tier 4 - take a look! hope to see you in there now
and i really do understand you want to make business! We are here at TaskMagic to make business for you easy time. I really do appreciate the novel you wrote and will take this into consideration! Thanks Another1
A: Yes there are a couple of ways you can address this. Depends on the tier you are on for the best solution here. It is doable no matter the tier you are on :)
I did not understand what you mean by this sentence " Depends on the tier you are on for the best solution here" Can you explain in detail so that I understand what plan I should buy?
You're going to have the most flexibility and easiest time doing this with the webhook trigger but with enough work you could hack this together with just the Google Sheets integrations.
I would recommend the T4 so that this can connect and respond better to other services that are not google sheets.
Let me know if you have any other questions
Q: I look Forward to seeing the full capabilities, I had a few questions does this work with social media task, Cavna repetitive design work?
and Finally i see a White label can you please speak to what is your white label option?
A: Well we look forward to that along side you! It does work with a bunch of social media platforms. We have some how-tos and templates around instagram and linkedin and youtube as of now. We can also work with canva - let us know how that works for you and report back ;) Our white-label is simple. You can set up automations for your clients
Random delay is integrated? 2. Proxy is needed? 3. Captcha integration for example Xevil? 4. User agents and fingerprinting? 5. Ban accounts on Linkedin?: how many data I can scrape by day from LI or google?
1. Delays are set in minutes but you can use custom code to create random delays. Can you add this to the roadmap so I can capture other use cases and provide a way to do it in our app without code?
2. Proxies are not required
3. 2captcha + some early ML using brain.js for the 'whats the word' type captchas.
4. Yes - you do not have to worry about this. if you'd like to specify a user agent I can add that in the roadmap but most of our users will not know what a user agent is.
5. We cannot set a limit and we do not enforce any restrictions here. It is recommended you do your best to simulate what a real user is capable of. I.e. messages in a day no matter the tech or resources you have available
We may start a 'current estimated restrictions' doc with the limits we have found on common sites. At the moment I am sending 60 messages/day on my Instagram with no issue. I have not tried to up this limit as im happy with these results right now
A: here is our roadmap: https://request.taskmagic.com/b/feature-requests/ you can request something there if you want! taking screenshots is something we may do in the future, but not sure if it's possible at the moment or at all - we'll look into it
[technical solution] Hacky solution, use custom code to remove all dom elements from the page you do not care about before taking a screenshot
Are there any services you've seen do what you're describing here (the screenshot portion) so I can reference its capabilities and how we can match it?

I already use a competitor) can I install it on multiple devices, but use only one at a time?
Will it sync from device to device?
Kyle_TaskMagic
May 15, 2024A: I haven’t tested real time syncing between the same account but we are ensuring real time sync between team members.
Worst case scenario you may need to refresh to load the new data from the other device as we cache as much as possible on the users device.
You can install on as many devices as you’d like.

Currently or is in your roadmap the taskmagicai support to take screenshots (custom, all screen, etc) after a login session?

May 15, 2024A: here is our roadmap: https://request.taskmagic.com/b/feature-requests/ you can request something there if you want! taking screenshots is something we may do in the future, but not sure if it's possible at the moment or at all - we'll look into it

Awesome, we have a deal!
The next step is to take custom screenshot... because some time the routine is "screenshot" columns, layers, tables, etc... not all the page always :)
ah I see the use case here.
[technical solution]
Hacky solution, use custom code to remove all dom elements from the page you do not care about before taking a screenshot
Are there any services you've seen do what you're describing here (the screenshot portion) so I can reference its capabilities and how we can match it?
