Works mostly fine, but very basic
I bought this in September last year.
After almost 12 months literally nothing has changed. No new options, functionalities, etc, nothing was added despite numerous suggestions from the community. I understand this is one-off price and we shouldn't expect God knows what, but there's this mythical roadmap somewhere which no-one has ever seen.
Other than that, it works fine, but:
- no green-screen option
- only square camera and you can't do anything with it
- does not work on Safari, works best with Chrome
I am happy to give a better note after I will see some real updates in the tool.

Good tool - would love to see the roadmap
Vento is a good tool and I have use it for creating "how-to" videos. No hick-ups so far. It would be great to be able to use a virtual background on the camera when recording, it would really make a difference. For this reason I still need to use Loom, from time to time - but would love to stick with Vento for good.
I can recommend Vento, knowing Loom is still two three steps ahead (just talking about screen recording) with the virtual back-ground, auto titling. For transparency it would be essential to see the Roadmap, what is planned and in which timeframe. That would create trust for users and potential buyers.

A Game-Changing Loom Alternative with Lifetime Deal & Smart Features
Vento is a fantastic alternative to Loom and Kodamo Decks, especially with its generous lifetime deal. The intuitive UI, chapter headings, in-browser editor, and annotation features make it ideal for async team communication, SOPs, and tutorials. The embed and share options add great flexibility.

Great tool! Good Loom alternative
I was pleasantly surprised by how polished this app is. It is almost perfect for my use case.
The only issue is that people I share the video with can't download it. I tried opening a link in an incognito browser. I could easily view the vidoe, but there isn't a download option (maybe if they had a Vento subscription they could, but I'm not going to create a bunch of accounts for clients).
If I could allow certain users to download my clips then I would have more uses for the app.
However, it is stil great for letting your users view the videos online, which is its primary purpose. And, I can always download the clip and send it through a different app. I just wish that I could do it inside Vento!
The "rewind" feature is awesome.
One improvement I'd like to see is the ability to switch between screensharing, camera, combo between takes. That would be AWESOME! Then I could do a video with me talking to the camera to introduce the screen - PAUSE and Change to Screensharing view - demo with screen share - PAUSE and Return to Camera view - record a thank you and goodbye message.
I like that the screensharing function allows me to place and size the camera window.
Overall it is a good tool. A great deal compared to Loom. And does the job well.
My use cases:
- support videos (mostly screensharing with me on the camera in the corner).
- quick videos of me speaking for short social media reels
- sales videos
