Not “ZeroWork” it is “Lots of Work”!

Far away from the concept.

The name implies “Zero Work”, but actually, it requires lots of work. At the end, doing tasks manually, even though time-consuming, is accurate and has the exact time you do it, unlike the so-called “ZeroWork” that requires lots of time for configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and so on.

Moreover, “Zero Tutorials”!

The Long Road to Becoming Zero Work

Let me start with the conclusion: this product is not yet sufficient to be called Zero Work.

First of all, the learning curve for this tool is quite steep, and users with no prior experience will definitely face considerable frustration. Such users will need to spend a lot of time on trial and error to achieve the desired results.

Moreover, although it is executed locally, it can only operate websites and perform simple web requests, without direct access to local applications or any large databases, not even SQLite. Users have to figure out how to set up a web server as an intermediary to execute local programs through this tool, and they also need to find their own ways to transmit data (the built-in table and Google Docs do not meet my needs), which is also quite troublesome for users. Although there is a block for executing JS code within the program, it can only run in the browser and is limited by the browser's security policies, making many operations impossible through this block.

I believe this tool still has a lot of room for development, and I hope one day it can truly become Zero Work.

Zero time saved

I have spent a lot of time watching the official Zero Work crash course videos on Youtube seeking to do the most basic tasks first. (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL7X7ThrPNPJAN8nfHlfguop5ylcZyJjsw). None of the videos are actually replicable. Lots of things may be obvious to them, so they don't mention it, but there is important guidance missing in the videos. If you follow the steps exactly as they do, the taskbot fails. Using a combination of 'trial and error' and doing what other users say in the video comments, you get some of the taskbots to work in the end. Things are mentioned in video as 'see in description' but then there is nothing there in the description (e.g. getting the correct CSS selector for a very simple scraping job).
I tried to be disciplined and not go straight to tasks I actually want to do, but learn the techniques first, but without workable up-to-date guidance it seems impossible. Frustrating.
Nice idea. I can see the potential, but the learning curve is just too steep. I consider myself being quite tech-savy and not giving up easily, but I cannot see anyone actually making this work and safe time. May as well do those things manually. Will try make.com instead (the basic plan is free)

Shows promise

Although I hope and expect the following issues will be resolved and improved with the introduction of cloud runs, I must rate what exists currently. The behavior of certain elements in the interface is not intuitive. The "Run" and "Schedule" buttons only run/schedule tasks on the same machine on which the interface is accessed. Although it is possible to install an agent on a remote machine, the only way to trigger it remotely to run a task is by use of a webhook. As a user, I logically expect clicking Run (or schedule) to reach out to any available running agents logged into my account to run the task -- ideally in a non-duplicative way if task agents are distributed across multiple remote machines.
