Q: Hi - I like the look of your tool, but I've been burnt before with some of my domains being on a non-supported register.
Can I add a domain and tell your tool when it expires? I know that it won't be able to find this information automatically, but at least I can get the alerting based on the dates I put in
Q: Hi Ryan
This is a similar question to one earlier, so please forgive the repetition, but I wanted to check to ...
understand the 'domain monitoring' aspect. Can your system be used as a Whois domain monitoring service of a third-party domain to monitor Expiry, Redemption, Available etc.? If so, how quickly could it pull up such changes? My use here would be to acquire specific domains(s) before others. Thanks Glenn
Ryan here from the Domain Monitor, I hope you're well.
We believe that our platform is the "all-in-on" solution to both domain, and website monitoring.
Let me summarise each of the core products:
1. Website monitoring = this is where you can receive alerts when your website goes down, and comes up. You can control the monitor "type" whether it be a basic monitor or a more advanced monitor such as cron or ping.
2. Domain monitoring = this is where we will utilise several different vendors (third-parties) to obtain domain registrar information, expiration data, WHOIS data and more, we'll then be able to alert you in advance of your domain expiring so that you can take action by renewing it, attached to this is other features such as SSL monitoring.
Furthermore, our platform, right now does not provide you with the ability to search for expired domains, and as such, would be marked accordingly in our platform.
Our domain monitoring product is about you owning 50 or so domains, maybe you're managing a bunch of client websites and have domains registered at different intervals and need to be alerted when a domain is due for renewal.
I hope this helps, and if it does a nice review would be much appreciated!
It's Ryan from the Domain Monitor, I hope you're well, thanks for reaching out.
We don't currently offer this feature, but can certainly look at this. If you're looking for a solution to monitor website uptime, then this is what we're all about, and domain expirations.
It's Ryan here from the Domain Monitor, I hope you're well and have had a great week so far.
You can add up-to 5 status pages with the AppSumo offer, you can have as many monitors per status page as you'd like.
Right now, we don't support CNAME records for Status Pages, but this is something we can add to the list of things to look, you can however remove Domain Monitor branding from the Status Page.
The Status Pages utilise a smart algorithm to inform potential new customers of your uptime state to let them know what's down and what's up, we may look at adding some kind of notes section or customisable message to display, so I really like this idea.
All of these would be "Pro" plan specific features.
It's Ryan from the Domain Monitor. I hope you're well and have had a great weekend so far.
It's not currently possible to stack and buy additional codes through the offer available on AppSumo as of yet. The offer we're pushing provides a maximum of 100 domains and 100 monitors.
If you're looking for more, feel free to head over to our pricing page, sign up for a free account and upgrade to a plan that suits, more information can be found at: https://domain-monitor.io/pricing/

As for your point on how frequently you can replace them, I'm not completely sure what you mean by this. Domain Monitor is a monitoring service, you add your website and your domain and we'll monitor them, you can add and remove as many domains up-to the plan's limit.

We use several third-party providers and are always adding new ones to obtain new domain information. That being said, it's entirely up to the origin country of where a domain was registered for it to be publicly accessible to many databases of domains and for registrar information the be available.
This is why we use several different providers, in addition, because we use several different providers, we're able to automatically recrawl domains without sufficient data on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
I'm pleased to announce, that the majority of domains on our platform (not to be confused with our website uptime monitoring feature) have enough registrar data.
Our domain and website uptime monitoring service allows you to not only monitor the uptime of your website and get notified of downtime, but also of upcoming domain and SSL expirations.
For example, by adding a domain to the "Domains" section we'll automatically crawl the domain and obtain as much data about it as we can from various third-party providers and consolidate this all in one place, then, when the domain is approaching it's expiration date we'll send an alert to your notification email to let you know it's about to expire so that you never miss an expiration ever again.
Our service currently doesn't explicitly allow you to search for expired domains on the internet but we're open to the idea of of this feature.
I'm the sole founder and developer on this newly launched domain & website uptime monitoring tool. I launched this platform just over 18 months ago with the aim to provide a strong UI and simplistic set of core features that every developer and business owner needs to ensure their website is up all of the time.
It's been my passion ever since day one to build a great tool, and along the way I've been introducing new features to make sure that it's the best that it can be.
If you're looking for assistance with our monitoring platform, I just thought I'd share with you a link to our Help center, here you'll be able to find short read articles about lots of aspects of the platform: https://domain-monitor.io/help/
