Q: browser feature

can you use this in your browser? So instead of typing out an email or a prompt in chrome, are you able to talk to it and then it transcribes and pastes it? Bit like wisperflow?

A: Hi, now it’s not possible. But we’ve just released Dictation feature on Mac app that lets you dictate in any app including Chrome.

But we are also thinking on Chrome extension. Do you think extension might be more convenient than app to dictate? If so, why?

Q: Clarification on device activation, web access, and differences in iOS vs. lifetime license.

I’d like to understand how the codes work and what is considered a “device.”
If I activate it through my iPhone (iOS), will I still be able to use the web version normally? Or is the web version counted as a separate device?

If it does count as a device, would I need to activate it on the web as well in order to view or download my data there, or only if I want to record/transcribe?

Also, how does the activation process work? I didn’t see a specific section in the app for that.

For clarification, is the lifetime license different from the one being sold on iOS? For example, if I purchase the lifetime license through iOS, would it grant access only on iOS or across all devices?

A: Hi there,
Great questions – I’m happy to explain how it all works 💜
📱 What counts as a device
Each physical device (for example, an iPhone, Android phone, or computer) counts as one device.
The web version is also counted as one separate device.
🔑 How activation works
If you bought your license on AppSumo, you need to redeem your code at Account manager https://account.letterly.app/ That’s where you activate or transfer your license between devices.
🌍 Using iOS and web
If you’ve already activated Letterly on your iPhone, the web version will count as a second device.
Even if you just want to view or download your notes from your computer, you need a second license.
💫 Lifetime license
If you have any questions about our cross-platform lifetime plan, please email us at hi@letterly.app – we'll be happy to help you choose the right option.
I hope this clears everything up. Thank you again for your questions!

Q: How do you upload files? Number of licenses required?

I see elsewhere you say you can upload files, but I do not see a way to do this on Android or web.

Also, does opening on web on one laptop and then another count as 1 license use or 2?

Also, I registered 3 codes, but seem to have 4 licenses. Is this normal? I may have bought too many.

A: Hi there,
Thank you for the questions – I can clarify everything for you 💜
📎 File upload:
At the moment, uploading audio files is available only on iOS and macOS.
The feature is already in development for Android and the web version, so it’s coming soon.
💻 Licenses on the web:
Each device counts as one license, but all web sessions (on different laptops or browsers) count as a single web license – so you won’t lose extra slots just by logging in from another computer.
🔢 Licenses vs. codes:
You’re right – when you redeem 3 AppSumo codes, they unlock 4 active licenses (one extra slot is included as a bundle bonus). If you had redeemed 1 or 2 codes, the number of licenses would have matched exactly the number of codes.

Q: Some obvious things missing

There are some really obvious things missing. Could you please add:-

1. Ability to play the audio of a voice note from within the note.

2. Add new voice notes to am already-existing note.

3. Multi-select and tag notes.

4. Multi-select and export notes.

Could you also add Make.com integration, and not just Zapier?

I also don't see any options for NO rewrite - just transcribe.

A: Hi there,
Thank you so much for the thoughtful and detailed feedback – that’s exactly the kind of input that helps us keep improving 💜
Here’s a quick rundown on your points:
1️⃣ Play audio from within a note – already available on iOS, macOS, and the web version, and coming soon to Android.
2️⃣ Add new voice notes to an existing note – this feature is currently in development and will be released very soon on iOS and macOS, followed by Android and web.
3️⃣ Multi-select and tag notes – this option is already available across all platforms except Android.
4️⃣ Multi-select and export notes – I’ve passed this request (and your idea for Make.com integration) to our developers. For now, you can already create Make automations using webhooks, which connect easily with Letterly.
As for having no rewrite – the very first version you see after the recording ends is exactly that: the original transcription, marked as “Original” at the top of your note.
Thank you again for sharing your suggestions – they’re super valuable to us!

Q: stack codes

Hello,

Would you be kind enough to let me know if it's possible to stack codes in the current plan? Also, can I use code from the current offer to stack it on top of the existing codes, which currently include five codes from the previous offer, so I can extend the number of devices I can access at the same time?

Many big thanks, and all the best.

A: Hi there!
Yes, codes do stack, no worries. It doesn’t matter whether the code is from the current offer or a past one, just redeem it under the same account manager :)
