Alarming breach of deal terms! AppSumo alert!
We are seeing a lot of AppSumo lifetime deal breaches and maneuvers these days… so bad that I don’t even open AppSumo anymore, and no chance I would be renewing my Plus membership. Once upon a time I would visit the page several times a day looking for deals and spending a fortune. Platform credibility Is now so brutally battered by cunning practices of entrepreneurs who change terms, brands, products, limits, run parallel web pages or portals and do so on account of sheer greed, lack of integrity and perhaps AppSumo’s unflattering commercial terms which some of them openly complain about in various community groups, after the fact.
Both sides are guilty - but the victim is ultimately and unfortunately the subscriber or customer. AppSumo should boldly write a caveat emptor i.e “Purchases at Buyer’s risk! Buyer Beware” and then rescind the ambivalent “got your back” guarantee or reform it. Buyers should know upfront what they are getting into.

APPSUMO does not honor its refund guarantee on failed product
I bought a product that disappeared before the year was up. It was an email verification service; the seller collected money on AppSumo and then shut the service down.
APPSUMO refuses to give me a refund because the seller provided an alleged source code on GitHub so that those of us who were scammed have to rent a server and hire a developer to install it and get it running. All of that is already more expensive than what we paid for the service, but that's not all—we also have to pay the monthly cost of the server where the software would run.
This ridiculous situation is enough for AppSumo to say that the service was not taken down completely, so they will not give me my money back.
If it sounds like a scam, smells like a scam, and tastes like a scam, what is it?

Not going to renew my + membership
The value of the plus membership has declined significantly over the past couple of years. Some vendors attemtping to make contact after the purchase of their product and ask you to purchase addidtional products, upgrade and constant marketing after the sale. Also some of the vendors sell the same features on higher tiers. Charging more money with no benefit to the appsumo member. When appsumo is questioned about this and a refund requested... there is no protection to the appsumo member and no solution given. When you attempt to gethelp and post on the appsumo site the content is removed for moderation because they are controlling the narrative and dont want the end user to complain or tell the real truth about their experience. Im DONE with Appsumo!!! this has gone too far

Relentless when taking your money, fail at helping you take advantage of their promised coupons.
Don't fall for the AppSumo Plus trap. They sell the $100 annual membership on the promise of coupons that make the fee "a wash," but the reality is a cynical game of "you snooze, you lose."
The hypocrisy is glaring. AppSumo will bombard your inbox to get you to buy deals—extending deadlines and screaming that "time is running out." Yet, they suddenly lose the ability to send emails when your paid-for member coupons are about to expire. Customer service will happily remind you that you're out of luck, proving that their ultimate goal is for members to forget their rewards entirely. They love your wallet, but they hate your savings.

really dislike limits on quarterly rewards
should be able to accumulate the quarterly rewards to additional quarters to then exercise the amount or have something like , taking $5 off since you did not use it this quarter - i mean i get the motivation to incentivize to keep buying but to lose it all is not kosher.
Also, had bad exerpiences with company going down-under and there has been a few - i buy the packages in the hopes of using it in the future and when the time comes, its nowhere to be found :/

Jun 10, 2026Hi! Thanks so much for taking the time to share this 😊
One thing that has changed recently is that Plus coupons are now refundable. If you make a purchase using your $25 quarterly coupon and later refund that purchase, the coupon is automatically returned to your Rewards page so you can use it again. While that doesn't address the rollover piece you mentioned, it does provide a bit more...
