I purchased Reelify because I wanted an alternative to paying around $300 a year for an AI clipping service with limited processing minutes. So far, I’m extremely impressed.
I ran the same long-form video through Reelify and my current subscription service. Both generated four clips, with two selecting almost identical sections. For AI running locally on my Mac with no credits or processing limits, that’s impressive.
Surprisingly, manual clipping may be my favorite feature. Reelify displays the transcript with timestamps, so I can read through the video, find exactly what I want, set the start and end points, and create a clip without rewatching the entire video. That is a huge time saver.
The regular captions could use some improvement, but the new captions beta is considerably better and much more accurate.
I also love that processing is done locally on my Mac, which is perfect when I’m traveling or have poor internet.
For a one-time lifetime purchase, unlimited processing, AI clipping, and excellent manual clipping tools, Reelify has been an outstanding value. I’m very glad I purchased it.

Hi, my name is Mike Huberty, um, I, uh, work with a company called American Ghost Walks. We own a, uh, haunted history tourism company called American Ghost Walks, and I play in a band called Sunspot. Both of those, I've made these really long podcasts and videos over the years, and they were mostly on YouTube or ap- you know, um, Apple Podcasts. And being able to use Reelify to grab those gems has really changed our game for TikTok and Instagram specifically. I've been using it for, um, especially my band. It's a big anniversary coming up, so with the band, I've been going back and going over these video podcasts and putting up a new piece of historical stuff every day. I wouldn't have done that on my own. So being able to go in, I got a Mac Mini hooked up to my media drive. I go in there. I pick up Reelify. Um, I look at the video. I have it, it has some decent suggestions, but the transcript, if you look through the transcript, you can start and end at any point in the transcript. Um, that's really useful. The captions are okay, um, when they work out, it's really great because the, the captions look good, but otherwise, they're not quite at the level of Instagram and TikTok's kinda captions. But they, they work fine, so that's not perfect, but it's still really useful. The real useful thing is, it captions, I mean, it transcribes the whole video in seconds, it finds what you're looking for, um, it exports it in a small format so it's easy to get onto your phone so you can stick it on Instagram and TikTok really fast. Anyway, and when I had suggestions, I emailed support. The cr- the, the developer emails me back. He's really responsive, made changes, and anyway, I use it every day, and I've been using it every day, and I can plan on continuing doing it. Is it worth the money for a lifetime? Um, yeah, if you got a Mac, and you wanna... and you have a lot of old videos, or even if you take a lot of videos and you wanna get something real fast, um, Reelif- I found no better thing than Reelify, uh, so I'd get it.

I have been playing around with social media clipping apps from AppSumo for about 2 or 3 years, and only one of them did not give me a headache.

Reelify does not overpromise and underdeliver. It basically offers one solution, and it does that solution well: clipping and captioning.

It just works.

Everything else that comes later just adds even more value.

Most other tools I have tried struggle with sluggish video processing, file size limits, time limits, minute usage, credit systems, or reliably delivering the processed media.

Reelify is different.

You install the app locally, and the speed depends on your machine performance.

I have an M3 Max, and I can process a 40 minute video in barely a minute. I can get 10 to 15 shorts ready to publish within around 4 minutes of processing, or even less if I keep things simple.

You can process as many videos as you want, as many times as you want. It lets you collect the subtitle file, and you also have the option to cut wherever you want manually.

As a solopreneur, I am all about practical tools. I do not have time for complicated workflows.

For a clipping solution, Reelify already has plenty of useful features and it does the core job well. One license per computer is perfect and fair, which is something I appreciate because too many tools today put limits around everything.

You can use a YouTube video or download any other video locally and process it. In my experience, Reelify does a strong job picking out the good parts.

You can tell the team behind Reelify is very invested in the project. Jay is responsive, asks for real feedback, and actually listens to what customers have to say.

The app is receiving frequent updates, and the feature list keeps improving.

The main thing is this: the clipping solution works well.

No ifs or buts.

There is no overpromising. There is only improving and growing from here.

And since this is a local app that runs on my computer, I like knowing my videos and progress are handled on my own machine.
No server downtime problems, no worrying about cloud processing, and no fear of my content being uploaded somewhere else.

That local first approach makes Reelify feel much safer, faster, and more reliable than the cloud tools I have tried.

They are already planning to improve subtitles, tracking, and add a social media scheduler.

This app is a no brainer, even if you do not need it right now.

Reelify went local while everyone else seems focused on cloud based clippers that can be slow, limited, or frustrating to use.

Reelify is an amazing app for recycling long-term content. It works flawlessy, and with the latest update it now creates double the shorts and is much more advanced in offering alternative clips by just refreshing the original video suggestions - how awesome! I love all about it, and their support and client communication is just perfect - they are very proactive, ask about how they could improve their product and have even implemented one of my suggestions - just awesome overall experience 🤘

It has been saving me a lot of time since I started using Reelify AI.

I run a clinic and an online education business, which means I have a huge amount of long-form video content that needs to be turned into short clips for social media. Previously, I hired someone to do this for me—about 2 Chinese and 2 English short videos per day—and I was paying around RM2700 per month. Even then, the output was limited, and if I wanted to scale further, I would need to pay another RM2700. So the cost would increase very quickly if I wanted more content.

Since using Reelify AI, everything has changed.

Now my clinic staff can use it during their free time between patients. Not every practitioner is busy all the time, so in those gaps they can quickly turn long videos into short clips. This has saved us a huge amount of money and time. I can also use it myself whenever I need.

I originally purchased Tier 1, and after about two weeks of using it, I was already convinced of its value, so I upgraded and bought another license. I’m now on Tier 2, which allows me to use it across three machines (three Macs). This has made it much easier to distribute across my team.

I’ve also given access to one of my teaching instructors, who has some spare time and is now learning to create content as well. It has really helped us turn “idle time” into productive output.

The AI automatically selects highlight segments from videos, and I can still adjust everything—if I don’t like a section, I can remove it; if I want it longer, I can extend it. It’s very flexible and practical, especially for someone who is not a professional video editor.

Right now we mainly use it for English videos because the Chinese feature is still being improved. I spoke with Jay and he replied very quickly and positively, and I was told the Chinese version will be released very soon, which I’m really looking forward to.

The impact has been very real. In just two weeks of consistently posting, we already had two new patients come to our clinic after watching the videos online. At this point, it has basically already paid for itself.

The total cost is about $59 per license (I currently have two), and for the value it provides, it is extremely worthwhile.

Honestly, if you are looking for a “perfect” all-in-one polished feature set, you will probably never find it at this price. What you are getting here is early-stage value at a very affordable cost. Once all the features are fully developed, I strongly believe the price will go up in the future. So in my opinion, this is the kind of tool that is worth getting early.

I am even considering upgrading to Tier 3, which allows up to 10 machines. This would allow my entire team to use it. We do have a mix of Mac and Windows users, so I’m still evaluating the best setup, but overall I’m seriously considering adding Tier 3 just to scale content production across the whole team.

What I also appreciate is that the product keeps improving. I receive regular updates about new features, and I’m especially excited about upcoming improvements like titles and cover images. These are very important for performance because the first 3 seconds—including the cover and title—decide whether people will watch or scroll away.

Once these features are fully released, I believe this tool will become even more powerful for content marketing.

Overall, Reelify AI has significantly reduced our costs, saved time, and helped us produce consistent content that actually brings in real business results. Highly recommended.
