I often loop specific parts of YouTube tracks. Could Surface accept a YouTube link with start/end timestamps (e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fL0xiMhPDZw&start=76&end=93) and automatically pull that audio segment?
Right now I re-enter timestamps, download the video, re-upload the trimmed file, then extract audio — it’s repetitive. Allowing a pasted timestamped link with a “clip and extract audio” option would save time and help create Shorts/Reels.

A: Hello DSP395,
Thanks for your question. Have you tried SurFast Video Downloader before asking the question? I will get started with your questions:
1. The YouTube clip video link with timestamp are accepted. It can be downloaded. 2. SurFast Video Downloader supports downloading either video or audio files from YouTube, based on your settings or manual selection. 3. We have a Clipping feature....
Pasting a YouTube link with start/end timestamps does not auto‑clip the video. I still have to manually move the slider or type times, which is slow and annoying.
Hello DSP, sorry for the misunderstanding. Yes, I found that it is downloading the whole video via a link with a timestamp. I will share the request with our developer to check. Thanks for the suggestion.
If you can gurantee this is something you guys will implement then I would buy this in a heart beat. Please let me know how long a feature like this would take to complete?
Q: How well does the browser extension work for downloading?
I have had problems in the past when it came to downloading videos that were within the browser. Will this download anywhere that a video is present in a Chrome Browser?

A: Hello dwbuse,
Just to clarify, the extension is not a standalone tool—it works together with our desktop app. When you right-click and select the download option via the extension, it sends the video information to the desktop app, which then starts the download.
Please note, it can only download videos from our list of supported sites, not every video on the web.
I see you mentioned licenses for Windows an Mac. What about using it on a chromebook? Do you have a web version?

Q: macOS v26.4.1 on first start warning about future incompatibility
Hi there, can you verify you will be providing an updated version that will support future version on macOS?
Context: On FirstTime starting the application, on macOS v26.4.1 macOS displays a warning about incompatibility with future releases of macOS. While I cant see under the hood, I assume (!) you are building the app image for PC and require rosetta under the hood or something alike.
Seeking you confirmation.

A: Hello nl8, Thanks for your question. Yes, we can confirm that a future version of our application will fully support Apple Silicon natively. The warning you're seeing about future macOS incompatibility is likely related to the current version relying on Rosetta for compatibility on Mac.
We will actively work on an updated build that removes this dependency and ensures full compatibility with...

Yes, I’ve tried it.
Pasting a YouTube link with start/end timestamps does not auto‑clip the video. I still have to manually move the slider or type times, which is slow and annoying.
Example:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fL0xiMhPDZw&start=76&end=93
Expected: SurFast automatically sets the clip to 1:16–1:33 so I can download it right away.
This missing behavior is the issue I’m pointing out.
