Q: Can I use Forento to receive recurring weekly payments from Members?
I am considering purchasing Tier 2 or Tier 3 to use the platform for a bowling league that I am on so that our members can pay dues digitally each week. I'd love for this to be a solution but would need the platform to be able to send dues reminders and collect dues each week - either manually or on auto - for 56 members of the league.
What you're describing above is not any of the usual use cases for Forento. I do believe there is other software out there that would suit your operations better -- but I suppose Forento could function as a workaround, if necessary.
Reach out through the live chat and I'm happy to advise.
Q: Chapter dripping and certificates map to which plan ?
I bought two codes and while setting up my site, I get the following messages for course creation. Chapter dripping is not available on your current plan. You can browse plans here. Certificates are not available on your current plan. You can browse plans here.
Your plan (tier 2) is mapped to the Start plan sold on our website at $49/month. You may get two or four additional codes to upgrade to Start 2 or 3. These are extensions of the second tier and have a lower sales commission fee.
Chapter dripping is not included in the Start plan, but exclusive to the Scale plan at this time.
Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions.
None of our lifetime deals include access to the certificates feature. Please note, however, that we sell a total of six plans through AppSumo (not only Basi 1, Start 1 & Basic 2). You can learn more about our plans and tiers in the From the Founder post, where you'll find a full description.
Feel free to reach out through the live chat on our website if you have any other questions.
Q: hello, my intention with forento is to have a school for my clients i charge a service to each client and i ...
want to educate them through your platform, do i have to pay apart from the “coupons” zero commission (19 USD /month) for them to have my courses for free?
You can publish free products on your platform without the need for the Zero Commission Addon. Only if you're looking to publish paid products, and assign access to specific members do you need the addon.
Fee free to reach out through the live chat on our website if you have any other questions or would like assistance getting the addon.
Do users added in manually through the zero commission add-on get to keep their access if we decide to no longer keep paying the monthly add-on?
I’m asking because after migrating my old users to my Forento courses, I don’t have plans on assigning courses manually and would be ok for new and future users to pay in the site and for Forento to get comissions of those sales.
There are core email functionality within Forento for managing transactional emails that are sent out on your platform's behalf. However, there are no email marketing features as of now.
Hundreds of creators on Forento have their websites set up through WordPress, but we don't offer any direct integration.
You can add a button on your WordPress site which links to your platforms sign-up/login page and have that be your login button. You can also grab URLs for specific products on your platform and link those on your site.
Fee free to reach out through the live chat on our website if you'd like assistance.
Q: Hello Adrian,
I really love what you have built with Forento.
io. I love the backend of them site. The frontend templates that I have see are not up to par. Can I use a Wordpress Template or https://gamma.app/ for my frontend?
I need something visually appealing for the main site.
A: Hey Amaete_Umanah, thank you for your question.
I understand you do not find the templates for the website editor up to par. It's not possible to import a template. I'd suggest picking the "blank" template and building your site from scratch.
Feel free to reach out through the live chat on our website, I'm happy to answer any additional questions and share tutorials for the website editor.
The content dripping feature is not included in Tier 6, unfortunately.
The community forum feature is a message board where you control who can post. Some creators keep the forum exclusive to paying members, others use it as an open forum. Some creators also use the forum to announce news, and have members comment and react.

Q: Ok Course creation is new to me but I have questions.
I am creating a course for corporations to have their HR take one course, their Mgt. take another, and their employees take a diff one. What do I need to purchase on AppSumo to have unlimited people taking courses and unlimited courses? The corporation would be paying me directly so I'd need to be able to give them access to courses without paying - how would I do this also? Thank you!
I'm glad to hear about your use case, and that you're considering using Forento for your business.
There is no limit to how many students or courses you can have on your platform, for any of our plans. I'd suggest getting Tier 2, Start 1. It has the most features and at a very good price.
Either, you could have the courses published as free products. Or, you could publish the products with a placeholder price only to protect them from outside visitors. And, manually assign access to the customers who belong to the corporations that have already paid you. For this, however, you would need the Zero Commission Addon.
Feel free to reach out through the live chat if you have any other questions, or would like assistance getting your platform set up.
in the end, is it necessary to pay 19 USD per month to FORENTO (that is the Zero Commission Addon) to be able to give these courses “free” to your customers?
Only if you're publishing the courses as paid products, behind a paywall. If you publish the courses for free, they'll be accessible to anyone who signs up for your platform, you won't need the addon.
Q: I was interested until I was surprised by an answer to someone else's question.
This is why I ALWAYS read every Q&A and Review before buying anything ever on AppSumo. You're not including the ability to Drip Modules/Lessons in any of the tiers offered on AppSumo. This is now a basic functionality of every learning system that has any traction and foothold in the industry. To hold it back saying you'll offer in some Upgrade offer in the future (after you've collected new users through AppSumo) at some undisclosed price totally kills any interest I had in the app. You, of course, would respond that you have to make some money somehow. As a course designer and teacher, having tight control over our product--our course content--is paramount to our ability to making some money somehow. It's not just that we can't test drive this functionality if we buy this deal as a trial run. It's the ideology behind offering an incomplete solution as a lifetime deal. It leads me to worry that this will be a constant pattern with both features access to quality support moving forward with a piece of softrware that would be a foundational piece of my business. Do you have any information you can share about your roadmap and plans for parceling out features to specific subscription tears?
A: Hey matthew92, thank you for your comment and questions.
I understand that the content dripping feature is crucial for your business, and I understand how it can be frustrating. However, I don't believe it's fair to say that Forento would be an incomplete product without it since we didn't have this feature until very recently.
I also want to mention that this is the first feature that we launched, that was not included in any of our lifetime deals. Ever since first launching on AppSumo two years ago, every single feature we've published has been included at no additional cost to lifetime deal customers.
With that being said, I do understand that the fact that the feature is out of reach to lifetime deal customers is not ideal. We're looking into how we can offer Scale, as a subscription upgrade to those on lifetime deal plans who want to upgrade.
I don't have any list of upcoming features and where they'll be included, but we will keep developing Forento, just as we have until now. The absolute majority of features will be included in the Basic & Start plan (some even in the free plan) but some, premium features will be limited to the Scale plan.
Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions or want to get in touch.
We don't have any integrations outside of Stripe or PayPal, but we recently introduced an addon that allows creators to accept outside payments.
The add-on is exclusive to lifetime deal customers and allows you to accept payments outside of the platform to then manually (or automated, through Zapier) assign & revoke access to products for members.
Feel free to reach out through the live chat on our website if you'd like assistance getting the addon, or if you have any other questions.
No, this is not an error. Tier 2 is a Start plan, whereas tier 3 is a Basic plan. The Start plans include access to features that are not included in the Basic plans.
There's a full description of the different tiers and plans available in the From the Founders post above.
When you're adding an element to your website, you may hold the element above your site for a few seconds. This results in a bunch of "placement lines" being displayed, allowing you to place the element freely. This might help you have the content show up in three columns.
If not, reach out through the chat on our site and I'll help you get the columns set up ASAP.
You can do this by adding "elements" that have columns, or at least that is how I did it. It is possible, but the builder within Forento is only so robust.
Q: How to create a free course without having to include payment options?
currently course owner has to put a minimum price of $1.
There is no requirement to set a minimum price for products. You can publish any on-demand product (Courses, Downloadables & Videos) as free products on your platform.
1. No, there's no ability to have a quiz and tie it to a certificate at the end of a course, unfortunately.
2. There's a progress bar that you as the creator can see for each student, for each course. This is to track their progress. Students themselves can track their progress through the chapter & page list/navigation.
3. Yes, we don't have any agency plan at this time. If you'd like to build multiple platforms, you'd need to do so through separate Forento accounts.
4. No, there is no way to offer free trials of subscription memberships. But most creators offer a few free products on their platform to act as trial-like training.
5. As of now students must sign up with an email and password. As the creator, you can also enable the collection of telephone numbers as part of the sign-up process.
