While there have been some reports of delayed support responses and glitches in the system, these issues appear to be minor and infrequent. Overall, Thoughtly seems to be a solid choice for those looking to automate calls with AI voice agents, launch SMS campaigns, and sync CRM data in real time.

BAAAAD

I can no longer use the platform unless I use my own twilio account…

That wasn’t what I paid for…

It’s a temporary issue, and we’re working on it as we’ve communicated. If you need your agent running right away, you can connect your own carrier for now. Otherwise, we’ll announce as soon as services are fully restored.

True Shame on AppSumo and Thoughtly for walking customers into this trap

Do not under any circumstance do business with this company. The level of shadiness I've seen since getting the product has been truly disturbing. Even now, as I type this, they are holding every appsumo account hostage and trying to force users to BYOK so that they can stop honoring the deal. How are they doing it? By turning off their connection to Twilio and claiming they aren't sure how to fix it. In the meantime we are encouraged to connect our own paid for Twilio account if we want access to our agents. They also cannot be contacted. They will not respond to appsumo customers at all. If they do respond it will take at least 3 months before they do . Their documentation states that if you have an appsumo account they cannot guarantee response times (something they wrote up only after the deal was over.) Keep in mind I have an agency account. The icing on the cake is APPSUMO IS AWARE OF THIS but have turned a blind eye as there is so much money to be lost should they have to refund all of us. These plans were roughly $1000, per person and appsumo, nor thoughtly, are wanting to give that back.

Hey 👋🏽

We never sold agency accounts on AppSumo , Tier 5 was Business, with no agency features.

The Twilio issue is temporary. While we fix it, BYOK is just a workaround so you can keep your agents running, not us backing out of the deal.

We know it’s frustrating and we’re working hard to get it resolved.

My Real Experience

I purchased the lifetime plan via AppSumo in February 2025.

May: Everything worked fine.

June–August: Paused usage.

September: Logged back in and found my account restricted—phone features completely unusable.
Customer support only sent automated replies, and the issue remains unresolved.

Biggest Concern: After AppSumo’s 60-day refund window, the platform provides no further protection.
A so-called “lifetime deal” becomes meaningless if the vendor fails to deliver and the marketplace does nothing.

Nice tool but awful support

For several months we have been testing thoughtly.
We need to connect a Belgian phone number bought on twilio (as advised in their FAQ) and we pester support for help.
We never get a reply.
The tool becomes unusable.
Aren't they wasting their time with lifetime buyers and concentrating on customers who pay monthly?
